    Happy birthday bro!!

Ok, so I think I'll be getting this one!!

Is not perfect but it looks like the tabbing issues on the legs are fixed, will somewhat scale with my MPMs, and has diecast, light up eyes, and articulated hands....aaand he comes with the matrix!!

Granted, he's missing some important paint apps, but nothing I can't fix.

Yeah for sure. This has happened to me with the Super Smash Bros. Amiibo line because I'm just in too deep now and have to buy every single character, which takes some effort when they continue to be in high demand every time a new wave releases.

Studio Series has thankfully had less of that obligation feeling because I've gotten so much enjoyment out of the figures. The only qualm is how it is making my huge shelf of previous movie toys largely obsolete, but I can't bring myself to offload them. So I'm pretty confident in this being the end of the road for me!

Yeah that's totally reasonable. The only ones I avoid are those types too. Or I buy them then sell them later :)

Sort of like other folks here, once Studio Series has competed its run, I won’t be done collecting Transformers, I’ll just be done collecting from the movies. I just can’t get excited about collecting figures from the future films since they’re obviously going to lean heavily on G1 (and it’s all because Travis Knight has a giant nostalgia bone for the cartoon and Hasbro, out of all the generations to cater to, seems to be set on catering to a generation that’s gotten constant representation for years).

Once SS is done, I’m moving on from collecting from the films.

Hey everyone, I just got SS Long Haul today and I can't seem to transform him due to some issues with the mold. I'm wondering if it's defective? I've attached pictures. Basically his knee joints won't compress flat, they're constantly pushing outward which causes the truck mode to bow. He also has some extra spacing in his waist swivel joint. It pops in, you can hear it click, but then it pops right back out and also pushes outward contributing to the bowing. I've triple-checked that I have him transformed correctly, I think I'm gonna have to return this one. What do you guys think? Anyone else have this issue?

It’s been leaning more g1 toy line wise yes, but movie wise the last representation it got was 33 years ago. Even the shows that have been made have all been steering far from G1. so I would say that after 10 years of a new take on TF’s (however questionable it may have been) it’s about time transformers got a proper G1 representation on the big screen.

At this point for me the ones to get are 07 Megatron, the remaining Constructicons, the Arcee’s, Shockwave, and Soundwave. After they’re good and done, the only ones on my wishlist still are Sentinel (inevitably coming), The Fallen (feels pretty inevitable too), Jolt, Onslaught, Mohawk, and maybe Dreadbot. And if they get around to doing Scorn and Slug I’ll take them too. But that’s it. Maaaaybe Mirage, but the Wreckers, while cool, aren’t priorities, and neither is Que.

I could maybe be coaxed into a ROTF Soundwave if he’s announced in enough time to where I don’t have to buy the DOTM figure.

Oh and if they do Devcon I’m down too.

I think you might have to return that one.

From what I understand, a lot of the US versions, including mine, have issues with the waist missing about 2 clicks when turning it, so it just turns on its own.

The knees not compressing the whole way is a new one for me though, so it may just be a really bad copy.

Daily reminder that Challenger is awesome. I haven’t touched him for a long time and remembered how great he is. Mine is the V1 still though so the toes are loose. Maybe future will help but not totally fix the problem. I want to get another one but can’t bring myself to spend the money for a figure I already have. It’s also why I don’t have the black version. I’m gonna try and be patient for when dragoon hits to see the new head sculpt. Then maybe I’ll get a V2 and paint him up and stuff to be my ultimate challenger.

Sorry, but I just can’t get all that excited about the future TF films being more G1. I would rather Hasbro used a different show/continuity as a jumping board for a future TF film. I like the cartoon as much as the next person, but with it dominating every corner of this brand (I would argue that the live action films were the only piece of TF media that didn’t laser focus on G1) I just can’t get excited or hyped.

I understand “needing to go back to basics” but it still baffles me that Hasbro seems dead set on catering to a generation that has gotten constant representation for years while effectively ignoring the rest of its own IP.

Mine has slight issues with the knees not fully closing flat, but not to your extent. I was actually going to ask around about it to see if my copy was unusual or not.

I've just gotten annoyed with watching the TF movies, with all the crap in them, seeing bumblebee not suck was amazing for me. Idk, The Toys were pretty much the only thing that made me like those movies in some way, so Seeing good writers and people who understand Transformers make movies has me looking forward to it. I'll take anything at this point :p

The review thread has some discussion on this and some possible fixes. Fortunately my copy didn't require anything too major.

You know, I kind of wish there'd be a way to reboot the movieverse in a way where we keep those designs, but have a much better plot and having focus on the transformers themselves (and their character arcs and development). While I like how there's thought in the new direction of the films, I'll still really miss the bayverse designs. Don't get me wrong, I like how they tackled the modified G1 designs in Bumblebee, but the bayverse designs (especially the ones in the first movie) will always have a soft spot in my heart.
The knees not closing flat is an issue present on a few copies (including mine). If I remember correctly, savio showed a fix for it on the review thread, but don't quote me on that.
