I’m hoping they wait until the sequel to do figures for characters we only saw on Cybertron in the Bumblebee movie.

By then, we’d have more refined designs with more time put into them that aren’t retools of Optimus Prime/ Bumblebee/ Pacific Rim: Uprising cgi assets and maybe give them actual on-screen vehicle modes.

 

Kinda same here with the characters from the Cybertron scene.

 

I still remember how badly I wanted that Stinger. Not only that, I also wanted to reshell him with a Pagani scale model which at that time I could only get online for.. $40, I think? Thank god SS came along to right one of Hasbro's stupidest mishaps ever.

Was always meaning to ask, how do you cut out the bottom of the foam insert? like I know how to cut the stuff out, just not how you cut the bottom of the chunk you want to remove. Planned on doing something similar.

 

Couldnt agree more. Let Bayverse run its course one last time with SS before transitioning to the next movie line, whatever it may bring.

 

You can call DOTM Shockwave one of his cycloptic drones like from Fall of Cybertron if you want a solid excuse.   Like many others, Shockwave was wasted as a character in the Bayverse, but IMO he's got a sick design that only needed some semblance of vehicle kibble and an actual alt-mode. also prime's first move on him was actually whipping out some brass knuckles of DOOM and punching him in the stomach but your point still stands

As for Shockwave's reboot design, I thought it looked doofy in CGI but it actually looks pretty terrifying in that concept art; like an industrial endoskeleton with crude armor and a basic cranium with a single cold, calculating optic that only serves to carry out the silent agenda of this mysterious monster of logic. I forgive the scene because it was so last-minute in production, but ILM didn't do most of the Cybertron designs justice IMO. A toy would be neat but we still need the Seeker design first...

Maybe wait a bit and get Shockwave on sale.

I've got a lot of issues with the Bayverse in terms of designs, but I find that if I view Studio Series as it's own "experimental" alternate universe, and not like "This is THE DEFINITIVE Ironhide" I can dig most of them. Shockwave was massively underwhelming in the movie, but that doesn't have to take enjoyment away from the toy.

 

If anything, his disappointing portrayal makes me want him more. If they can't depict him properly, then I will, y'know what I mean?

Lovely stuff! But man Wreckage really needs a Voyager. I guess SS won't do non-screen stuff but if they do he and ROTF Lockdown should be priorities.
