I meant Duocon-like in that he's made up of multiple vehicles and not multiple bots.

Gotcha. So you prefer the idea that movie Devastator is made from vehicles that don't have robot forms? That could work since we never actually see any of his vehicle components transform in the film.

EXACTLY. I greatly prefer it like that since most of the construction vehicle Decepticons die before a group of construction vehicles are lined up for Megatron's command "Devastator, merge for the kill!" He didn't say anything about the Constructicons, so to me movie Devy is an Octectcon (thanks @analogue).
I just like the idea better.

Gives it a chance to be more movie accurate, too.

Just having the vehicles because they aren't displayed in the movie. Also may cost less since they'll have to be in the same box.

    Yeah, definitely.
For what it was, it makes the Supreme version from RotF more accurate than the new one.

Meaning the Supreme version was made purely of vehicles.

Oh yeah, I remember. Had it not been the ROTF line, he would've looked even better.
This new render looks so silly with the giant arms lol. Waiting for the yellow redeco of Rampage.

Might need to start harvesting the souls of the non-believers.
Devastator's gonna need a food source.
Now, where'd I put my soul gems.

nooooo. Demolishers robot mode wheels are supposed to have beams on BOTH sides of the whells. The RotF Voyager got it right. The 3rd Party version got it wrong, and this got it wrong. I really wanted this. But to only have 1 beam per wheel ruins it for me.

It appears that each wheel does have 2 beams, the new pics just have them mistransformed/obscured:

It is strange trying to reconcile the Constructicons with robot modes who appear in the film and the vehicles that make up Devastator. You have to wonder what exactly happened behind the scenes and why there are so many inconsistencies. My guess is the CGI artists weren't communicating with whoever was in charge of choosing the physical vehicles used in the shots, which lead to a lot of the vehicles not matching up.

Although a bit mistransformed, Scavenger looks great. I never really liked the Constructicon designs back in the day, but these spaced out releases definitely have definitely given me time to appreciate each individual design. And these unorthodox ‘bot modes have grown on me. Scrapmetal now seems just too normal and generic in the bunch!

P.s. we’re half way to completing Devs and I’m still in awe HasTak are actually doing a 8 bot combiner including Leader class figures. As a bit of a design nerd I knew I gotta have all the Constructicons straight away. Even if I hated the movie Devs design, which I don’t, this is too awesome a project to not get!

I've worked out some of the transformation in my head
1 the bottom wheel splits in two and the wheel Halves rotate out on the white pieces then the treads fold down
2 his shoulders rotate so the arms are pointing up and the front side panels untab from the rear side panels
