Truth. I love the Constructions. Their toys. Their colors. My collection room is Constructicon green on purpose. How do you get me, as big a fan of the Constructions as I am, to not buy a comic starring them? Livio.

Exactly. I have so many Constructicons, and I haven't touched this book for that exact reason.

I feel like this question gets asked and answered enough that there needs to be a FAQ on it, but let’s say that a lot of it comes down to $$.

For this new series' first arc, IDW has hired a fan writer to do the job? Did he fund the series? Cause that's what I think...

Is he doing issue 12? I thought they switched artists recently.

I hope he does the art on some of these. He could make the Siege designs look really good.

So it is! I never noticed. Still interesting that they incorporated the decepticon symbol in the head design. Don’t see that too much in any autobots.

The bait and switch is a method as old as time, my son. Many a traveler has been enticed by the false promise of beauty only to be thoroughly disgusted by weak interiors.

... I'm talking to YOU, Marvel.

Like the look of the cover, but I\'m not so sure about buying a book by a author who, to my knowledge, has never published fiction before.  To be honest, I don\'t even mind Livio\'s art, although the cover looks way better.

Hey I'll be honest, it's my dream to write a big franchise comic someday. I've had an X-Men miniseries kicking around in my head for the better part of a decade. It would be a dream come true.

So I don't really agree with the criticism that just because somebody's never done it before, that means they can't. The only way you become a comic writer is... well, it's by writing a comic. Let's not hold that against him.
One day it could be one of us writing a TF comic, and it would be pretty awful if a good chunk of the forum went, "well, he can't write Transformers since he's never written Transformers before!"

My previous issues with the series aside, I do like how Ruckley isn’t a superfan who’s read every single previous IDW comic and stuff. He’s coming into it with his own perspective and hopefully that will translate into something really unique now that the story has picked up the pace.

To clarify, I never said a brand-new shiny author can't write a comic. That would be absurd. What I said was that I am more hesitant to invest in a book by a writer who isn't a experienced professional. It might be a fantastic book, but I don't have any way tof if I like his work before investing in in a new series.
Another problem is, even if I love the first arc, the writer is going to be switched out every arc. So I might love the first arc and hate the rest. There isn't a way to know if the writer you're getting is one you're going to like.
