Now that you've said it, I want to see it. I actually want to see Devastator with two "toothed" feet. One wheels-leg and one treads-leg, same for the arms... instead of wheels below and treads above.
That could even make it possible for a 3P to pull an MMC Bovis/Fortis move for Scrapper and Bonecrusher. Just trade out scoop and wheels for blade and treads.

When it comes to 3P, they arent capable of being literal with "this IS g1 whoever" and it has to be interpreted as that character no matter how obvious it may be. Since they're all "just an interpretation," they inherently carry the option for taking liberties such as this.
I'm not saying you shouldn't opine as you do, because you have stated how you got there and referencing precedent is a valid form of support, but it's justified either way, scramble option or not.

I'm in agreement that "making sense" is more important to combiner limb arrangement than what someone chose to show the first time (or any time repeatedly thereafter) it was depicted. See the Bruticus combination animation in the FoC game.

For some reason, the only flier on a team being a leg just doesn't work (for me).

As for making things official... didn't IDW make it "official" that Devastator (and by extension all combiners) can be made up of just about anyone, even without scramble-iness? Sherbert-leg or Cop-face are permanent changes to the character, in other realities.

 

Given how much these guys resemble the Poseidon components, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that they Scramble as well.

 

for me it depends which combiner. Dev, Bruticus, Menasor the limbs definitely have their place, but some of them I'd have to say like Piranacon and Abominus you would probably have to point it out to me. At that point I'd probably go with what looks best/more interesting, especially on the arms (pretty much what Biomec's saying about Cutthroat). When I combine Poseidon I'm definitely putting 1K kills as an arm.

 

Poseidon's neck mod is a lot more difficult than the usual pin-removal. Can't just tap it out. The safest way (to the rest of the figure) to get the original neck off, destroys it as step 1, so once you start, you HAVE to go through with it. Using a method which will preserve the original neck, is much riskier to the rest of the figure, but allows you to "abort the mission!" if things start to go awry. I wrote about my experience/tips doing it in the main thread.

 

I could be off on it going from 15 to 18, I dont fully remember but give me a sec to find one of my extra sets and my tape measure and I'll post the diff heights, I could also be confusing GT Gravity Builder extended thigh add-ons

So for Poseidon I went with what looked the best to me color wise, so green chest and arms, maroon pink blue legs

 

I'll probably mess with these figs tonight. If I manage it, i'll share anything I find with the thread if you don't manage for whatever reason so we can make some educated guesses as to how tall Satan will be and/or how it'll manage 20".

Yeah they add an inch and I'm agg'd bcuz Squid Alder fell apart while putting on the boosters

 

Thigh extensions, are so much more "proportional" than ankle extensions. Pretty much all combiners already have ridiculously short thighs, ankle-bits just make it worse. You can add a TON of height with thigh-extensions, and it'll actually HELP the overall proportions. Feral Rex could use some.

While I'm not bothered by FR's leg situation, I would get those. Especially if they could also be used as weapons backpacks for Tigris/Felisaber, or maybe a better storage option for Leo Dux's giant cleavers .

 

not one of my combiners needs anytype of "extenders" be it thigh or ankle, my combiners are the perfect height

 

Bots that can touch their knees I call "knee scratchers". Poseidon is in a league of its own. I hereby dub it "shin scratcher"  

That said, it's a good looking combiner.

 

  i never realize he could scratch his shins, but so can Ordin, Gravity Builder and Rex on his shortest setting i think, idk i have mine on the highest and i'm not changing it to find out though i don't think i should be as scared to touch any combiner as much as i am with Squid Alder, still have put him back yet  

 

Seems like Sinnertwin has a body that's too long in alt mode.

 

I watched through EmGo's review of the set and as i went through the playlist i was progressively becoming more and more committed to buying all of them but when i got to either Deathclaw, ThousandKills and Poseidon himself; i started to feel put-off on getting him...
The fact that each part is £70-90 doesn't help. I'd rather buy some Gunpla. :/

 

Ok, either way, the set is quite popular and to my knowledge, it has been reissued several times, so if you change your mind there is a good possibility to get them at retail price later.

 

Devil six sounds like a new brand of bad beer. I was referring to what tfc named their take on abominus.
Well abominus is supposed too look organic. After all he's made up of a bunch over qualified nightmare creatures.
Tfc should have gone the route of the repaint of king p with color of the animals they represent, but with a ominous twist to it.
For example death claw. I can see them getting away with dark navy blue, black and some red ass eyes.

For anyone interested, ShowZ has this for 78.99. However if you put in a deposit of 3 dollars, he'll match you dollar for dollar thereby dropping the price to 75.99. I think that's probably the best price you can get outside Taobao.
