Thank you for reminding me. Once I got home I put some WD40 (lube) on both the upper and lower ratchets as well as the sliding kneecap area. Wow! What a huge difference. Feels better than brand new. Appreciate the indirect reminder ;)

I remember trying to get across to people saying a similar thing that it will look fine in-hand when it’s properly transformed (because it 100% wasn’t in the first few pics, the back was the main problem though not the feet. The feet we’re more or less correctly transformed even in the first pics, just big) but people wanted to scream into the void some more so here we are still talking about it in another thread two months later and still no figure in-hand for us to look at for those people to be shown as the fools they are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    1. Just now got an email from amazon Japan..... release date Nov 30th... ..should be getting it dec 3-6th.

    2. The MP 44 issue......... how can the knee joint be broken sealed in the box without being transformed? the whole knee issue is that when you bend it... it destroys the ratchet.. some (not all) some are saying it so they can get replacement parts easily with no questions asked and some have an agenda against this figure for its price..

    3. they took MP 44 down because too many people were wanting replacement parts / figures. and obviously.......... if I screwed up my figure first transformation... I'd want replacement parts too... the mistake was in engineering... they shouldnt of changed how they did the knees because people are breaking their figures not knowing engineering is different than usual. I'd call this an engineering mistake... not a QC issue.

Do I need to disassemble anything if I want to add a little silicon lubricant to the ratchets?

That was a cool transformation video.

Really shows how it's all just a lot of folding.

    Lots of folds.

    And flaps.

    Foldy flaps.

    Fold tolds.

Hold my foldy flappy folds. My flappy foldy holds. Yeaaaaahhh......

I for one am quite happy with the delay to mp45 (and others) if it means that we dont have another mp44 knee debacle - quite agree that this is predominately a design issue (as is possibly the yellow and grey paint chip issues).

Hopefully this delay means that TT have learned at least a bit from their mistake, and havent just buried their heads in the sand and pretended its not that bad.

Im looking forwards to mp bumblebee and hound, but i can wait a bit longer.

It’s called research. It can be time consuming for sure, but if you’re not willing to do the research, then don’t be surprised when people call you out on your ill informed conjecture.

As a general rule if you are using WD40 or similar spray, this penetrates a joint - it is quite sufficient to spot it onto the outside of a ratchet or other joint at a join line (i spray a bit into a small container then use a cotton bud to apply) - you will see it go in, then work the joint a little, repeat if neccessary then clean up excess.
If you are using a thicker or non spray type lubrication its likely a disassembly job unless someone knows better for the specific product you are using.
Word of caution - i use wd40 all the time and its a godsend, but be cautious using on a circular post through long air tight hole (the type you sometimes find used for elbows) if the joint creaks, or a creaky ball joint which is very enclosed - you can freeze it up worse.
    Hope this helps.

The fact there were a lot of Japanese users with knee problems was enough for me. No different then their complaints with 28's chrome or the clusterf@ck known as mpm4.

I am not getting Blackarachnia but waiting longer for Bumblebee is ok. The way I see it, I get longer to put some money aside.

yeah exactly. I was well aware of all the knee problems before I transformed my MP-44 and took extra care but the left knee was already broken. Most of the reviews I had seen on youtube had broken knee ratchets at that point (whether they knew it or not). Its a design flaw, that is unacceptable for such a high cost item, and unless it was fixed for some, it might eventually happen to most of the copies. I used the fix from the boards and TMan978's video and it worked well, so overall I'm still happy. I'd like to think MP-45 won't have a design flaw like that though.

The more I see MP-45 I like it more and more ...it really is a great sculpt. Everything apart from the back, the feet don't bother me at all. I almost feel like the designers could solve a better way for it to look less messy, but I guess they would've tried...or the solution was going to be too complicated for a small figure ....or cost too much for TT. Either way, for such a high price tag for such a small bot, I would've expected it a bit neater at the back. Still looking forward to seeing reviews etc and I hope that people who get it are happy with their purchase.
