Speaking of anticipation, remember what I said about Chouja Raideen being horrible? Well, after watching Ryusoulger and watching Chouja Raideen fully...Ryusoulger shows how much Sentai is falling over the years while Chouja Raideen's new take on a classic robot with Sentai aspects not being a bad idea but a good execution that you guys gotta check the show out. It's a 90's budget anime but has pretty good takes on Sentai that will never be seen on Sentai episodes of now again. Also, buy the toys since they can make for some great enemy fodder for the Machine Robos like upgraded Devil Invader Elites or something.
Machine Robo Steam Robo by Alt Mode, on Flickr Just out of curiosity, what does that little bit that plugs into his posterior do?
Why is PATHFINDER not included in the Survey? Is she NOT a Guardian Gobot too or what? I'm a big fan of that particular Character. and I'd like it if she could also be added to the survey.
The survey is moot as ActionToys can't even release what they have shown in prototype form. Can some other Third party company step in and do some Gobots? Why is it we have myriads of companies doing TFs but can't get one to give us toys that have no competition?
Even if Action Toys kept up with releasing everything they’ve shown off they could never make a Pathfinder as their license for the line only covered characters that appeared in the Revenge of Cronus anime which omitted Pathetfinder’s MR counterpart for some reason. But yeah I definitely wish some other company would step in and give us all these characters Action Toys could never do or has dropped the ball on.
Yeah, we need to remember these, unlike some 3P offerings, are officially licensed Machine Robo toys. They were already kind of pushing it with the Cykill face plate in the DX Bike Robo release. (That said, I would LOVE to see others 3Ps hop into the Gobots void.)
The reason why Pathfinder was not included is because the toyline only covers the Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos series in which her MR counterpart does not appear in.
Has anyone ever found out what the deal is with the sporadic releases? I'm glad the line isn't dead, but it's really annoying only getting a couple a year.
It's just how Action Toys operates. Releases in all of their lines are very random and sporadic. Sometimes releases take years, sometimes they come out a just a couple of months after they are announced, occasionally something will come out without even being announced. I'm guessing they just don't put a lot of focus and importance on PR and deadlines and just work on/develop projects when they're able to or when they feel like it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact they collaborate with other companies (Fewture, etc.) It doesn't seem like a particularly sustainable way to handle business but they seem to be doing OK so they likely have little reason to change.
We need a Proper Pathfinder. THIS is what her entire original Concept was actually based from when she was originally designed, The "Cylon Raider" from the Original "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA". I've known this since I was a wee 7 year old. Back then I watched Buck Rodgers and Battlestar Galactica religiously. It is time for PATHFINDER to have her ultimate revenge for the Abomination HASBRO turned her into. You can't tell me I'm the only Pathfinder Fan who feels this way.
You know,I feel like a lot of mechs look similar to the Cylon Raider. One of the mechs that form Lo-Tron in the Voltron Fleet of Doom special looks kinda like that. It forms the coolest part of the robot - the wings:
Uh, you do realize the original Pathfinder toy was made by Bandai as part of their Machine Robo line, right? Hasbro had nothing to do with the original toy as they bought Tonka well after Gobots were released. I like the original Pathfinder toy as is. Although I would be for an updated Pathfinder that more closely resembles the concept art you showed.
It took me a moment, but I realized he's talking about blue Cosmos from the minibot redeco set. He's still wrong though, as that was Takara who did that, not Hasbro.
