***Opening post updated*** Hey now, it's almost a year in and I found time to post an update to a much loved project. I was not too pleased with how the chest plate turned out 3D print in nylon, and months ago I made him a new one using a mix of materials. Nylon was still used on the top section as it's necessary to absorb the stresses of the hinge, but the rest of it is printed in higher detailed plastic resin (Smooth Detailed Plastic on Shapeways) to better match the appearance of the rest of the figure. I added a Reprolabel autobrand for good measure. Additionally, the Overlord/Black Shadow mold is not really designed well to hold accessories due to how thick his forearms are, so I made an add-on 'blaster base'. The handle of this piece can be held onto securely, and has up to 4 peg holes to allow additional blasters to be mounted. Perfect for someone like Fortress Maximus. I hope you like it!
I guess when I first posted this, I was too busy with school to keep up with the replies. Pardon me for resurrecting this thread almost a year late! Thank you guys! I'm glad you like it. Jet Sandwich is going to be the name of my new OC! He sure did! But he's still not really mentally stable... They are modelled and 3D printed, including the ball socket component which pegs into the side of the tank. The mounting pieces are specifically made for the Overlord / Black Shadow mold, but I guess I can change up the cannons for use with other figures... Your kind comments are much appreciated! Please do! Hm I realised I haven't posted parts on Shapeways for this guy! I guess I was really too busy back then. I'll remedy this in the next couple of days... And D26 please share your Megatronus custom! Thank you! I tried to do that by having Cog transformed into his alt mode. That's the closest I can get them together I think. It works very well for IDW's rendition of Fort Max as well. He ain't a city! That's the idea. I would have bought him in store if Hasbro has done this. Alas too bad an actual city sized Fort Max was released for Titans Return. That being said, it's weird we can have multiple size classes of Optimuses and Bumblebees in the same toyline, but rarely for side characters. I'm sure he'll do whatever it takes to face his nemesis! Excellent work. I think you could even repurpose Cog as the European Rescue Force blue tank minus the claws or retroactively make them the same character.
This is still so awesome! Question though: For those of us who bought TR Overlord instead of Sky Shadow, is there any chance you could make the little sternum connector for the torso so the megajet can connect/dock to the top of the gigatank and carry it? (Overlord's gigatank still has the clip to attach, but Hasbro left off the corresponding connector on the megajet.)
