    Hey gang.

Carrying on from my previous MP Powermaster Optimus Prime, which I will update very soon as its pretty much finished, is an original toy inspired Optimus Prime.

I managed to snag mp36+ Megatron really cheap and after Te01 and ultimately MP44, MP10 was tossed in a drawer, surplus to requirements.....

Until mp36+ arrived. I couldn't shake how mp10 could be the perfect counterpart so dug him out. Designed some extra parts, removed others, improved articulation et voila:

I present G1 toy Prime. Fully transformable, albeit a touch of partsforming. Retains Matrix chamber and Energon axe and even gains a slight ab crunch! Will snap all my Prime's, including PMOP, tomorrow.

    The multiverse has collided!

    Hope you all enjoy!

moootherfucker, that is gorgeous. it's a shame we'll never get an MP10+ or MP44+ like this, that is perfect.

    what, exactly, partsforms?

    I think it's nailed on we'll get a + mp44 but it won't be gappy like this/original toy.

Regards partsforming it's his lights section. The hands fold away, you open his chest doors, peg the lights section behind the silver stripe under the windows, fold the arms away like the G1 toy then close the windows and lights to cover the torso fully. Looks identical to mp10 in alt mode. I'll get a pic over the next few days when I get chance.

There is something very special about this. The G1 Megatron deco was always pretty impressive, but what you did with Prime really makes that official product stand out even more. Excellent work!

That is amazing. If MP44 had looked that good I'd have considered getting it. Maybe Takara will see this and draw some inspiration for MP44+?

I especially love how you replicated the "bumper belt" of the original toy. Nearly every G1 Prime figure, including all three MP figures, ignores that the crotch is meant to be derived from the bumper.

Nice custom! Looking at it makes me think a toy version of Prime should be based on MP10 or redone from the ground up. It's similar to how the + versions of the Hasui guys don't do much for me as a toon version of the character. If you want to go G1 toy, you have to go all the way and embrace the alt mode, hard lines and understand how to make the goofy things in the toy look good within an 80s mechanical aesthetic. The cartoon itself was a way to make those toys look better through an anime lens. If there was a line that really emphasized the toys, the Sunbow scale shouldn't be used either as that would let them use the real alt mode shapes while maintaining decent bot proportions. Certain characters would be bigger or smaller than what we're used to. We have 3P but they're pretty risk-averse so I don't really see any of them doing something like that.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, makes it all worthwhile seeing ppl enjoy it :)

Seems you can't please everyone though!

That's said, who said this isn't permanent? Reducing waist size, trimming the matrix chamber, removing robot ab grill. All pretty major mods amongst other smaller bits.

Holy crap! THAT is awesome! I had to do a double take because I thought it was the G1 figure you turned into a Masterpiece style figure. Very nice!

That is an amazing piece man, I would love to try something like that, but I just don't have the patience for these big jobs anymore. Really nice, dude.
