Shockwave mentioning that he's considering overthrowing Megatron; if that comes to anything then the writers will get serious props from me. Cartoon depictions of Shockwave tend to make him too loyal for me, it'd be nice to see an animated Shockwave with the same craftiness as the Marvel/IDW versions.

Also some context. In the previous episode (sorry I didn't get a recording before my Foxtel decided to delete it) the autobots and the decepticons confront starscream for the allspark. Basically starscream over-powers everyone but not before Optimus pulls a "matrix light our darkest hour". That's why optimus is comatose at the beginning and why starscream is captured. Also the autobots have the allspark. Also all the seekers are dead.

Yeah they aired here already, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to record them before my Foxtel deleted them. I did watch them and can give summaries for both.

Episode 11 Infinite Vendetta: This is the episode that Jetfire and Skybite join the cast, obviously. In it they both just turn up on earth and want their respective factions to help them to stop the other. Apparently their rivalry is spawned from Skybite during the war destroying a collection of planets (or civilizations) through the use of a supernova. This event is what caused both factions to think both of them were dead (since they everyone expresses shock that not only are they on earth but are still alive). The two of them then attempt to convince their leaders to help them defeat the other only for Optimus to tell Jetfire "No, because retrieving the allspark is more important than some petty rivalry" and Megatron to tell Skybite "Solve your own problems". Starscream steps in at this point (some seekers intercept Jetfire and Skybite and lead them there separately like in the comic con clip). Here we get a G1 allusion with Jetfire where Starscream mentions they used to be friends and jetfire just refutes him. We then get the whole using the allspark to give them powered up forms.

At this point each of them then head to the others respective base to capture their leader. They proceed to achieve this (with both leader recognising that they have visited starscream cause how else could they have the armor) and then head to a gladiatorial arena in rome to have their throwdown. Megatron of course just seems to enjoy the situation more than anything else, mainly to watch two gladiators fight in combat again. Skybite and Jetfire proceed to have their fight with Megatron egging them on and Optimus just watching in exasperation. Amazingly it's Jetfire who comes out on top as some point the fight moves underground. However as Jetfire has Skybite dead to rights (with Megatron attempting to push Jetfire into killing Skybite and optimus trying to convince Jetfire to just leave) the cave starts to fill with lava (not sure why I may have fast forwarded during the fight =P) and "oh no" optimus is down there aswell with an injury. Jetfire has to choose between his rival and his friend. In the end he chooses Optimus and the two leave, Megatron meanwhile isn't as merciful to Skybite and threatens him with telling him where Starscream is or he will kill him. The episode ends with Jetfire telling the Autobots where to find Starscream and the allspark.

Episode 12 I am the Allspark: So this episode opens with Starscream lamenting his failings with the allspark. First his children failed to defeat the Autobots and the Decepticons and now Skybite and Jetfire have failed to kill Optimus and Megatron. Starscream basically decides in enough is enough and absorbs the power of the allspark into his body. This causes his whole body to change (he turns a dark blue colour and begins to glow) and whatever sanity he had left is now eroded at this point. He then decides to pull a Silas from TF Prime and thanks his seekers for their service before preceding to absorb all of them into him. Effectively he kills off Acid Storm, Thrust, Thundercracker and Nova Storm (as none of them has turned up in any of the following episodes).

Anyway cut to the Autobots as they prepare to head to Starscream's lair to confront him. They first go to the allspark chamber from trials (the room with all the groundbridge portals) here they encounter the Decepticons who have decided to do the same thing. The two factions proceed to fight each other. At least until Starscream appears himself and uses the power of the allspark to over power everyone. He then does that bit from the ghostbusters movie where he makes everyone bow to his will. Megatron is quite resistant to all this at one point mocking him by making another g1 reference by calling into question his scientific abilities. This progresses into grimlock insulting Starscream to which he responds by forcing Grim to transform repeatedly for his amusement. This leads to possibly the greatest Megatron and Starscream interaction I've seen since prime.
"This is what you do with the power of the allspark, pathetic." - Megatron
"You know Megatron I should thank you, for all the abuse, the mistreatment, the insults, th-" - Starsceam
Megatron interrupts his monologue with "Your Welcome."
Starscream at this point flips the fuck out. And decides that play time is over and to absorb all their sparks at this point. All hope is lost until Optimus decides to use the Matrix to "Light our darksest hour" and blasts the allspark out of Starscream. Everyone lives but it quickly devolves into a free for all as everyone starts to fight for the allspark. Optimus during this is comatose from using the matrix. During the scuffle Windblade is able to grab the Allspark and the autobots retreat. As they make their escape, Bumblebee goes back to for Starscream, to imprison him. The episode ends with the Autobots celebrating the fact they got the Allspark. This leads into episode 13 Escape from Earth.

 

Hot damn, I'm only on ep 4. That was a page turner to read. Can't wait.
