The GT and DX9 versions are more stylized tho, right? Or am I thinking of a different pair? I was speaking more in terms of a classic MP Megatron-style Legends figure.

 

No, not really stylized at all [unless you have a different definition of the word than I do] - in fact, GT & DX9 [plus MFT's OSKO of DX9] are all fairly straightforward G1-accurate interpretations of Megatrons that turn into pistols:








I wouldn't consider any of them stylized per se, but I suppose YMMV.

Heck, as awesome as he is I'd consider IF's Megs the most stylized of the bunch [yeah, he has the G1 mode, but he turns into a Tank].

 

It all depends on where your Legends scale cuts off at. GT's, while my favorite, is oversized in comparison to DX9, New Age, and MST.

I figured it was as all the NA packaging is an homage, but I can't pass up a smart remark.

My logic is ridiculous, but I went with toy because I have a toon MP-36 and the toon NA looks too exact. Plus, the chrome with yellow eyes looks muthafarklin' badass.

 

The toon color will be released 1st correct, then the toy color?

 

They did the Insecticons opposite of that. Toy deco first, then toon.

I never caught that his thighs protruded past his ass. That is amazing. No one will ever want to see this guy from the side or rear. Like Hot Soldiers Bumblebee, he's only ok from the front.

I hate to hammer them too hard, because they definitely know what they're doing with figures. I think he is just too small for them to be able to do better with the same materials. In that light he's great.

 

I think it's part of the reason I'm okay getting the toy deco of him... I mean, the original Megatron toy was a janky pile of parts in Robot mode, so it's fitting for this one too.

I just like NA better than MS at this point, so I’m gonna get the toon Megatron to go with the upcoming Seekers and their Insecticons.
