Iron Factory is killing it. I’m almost only collecting them at this point. My Wheeljack and Hound should be in tomorrow. Really excited for Cliffjumper now. Even more encouraged for Soundwave 2.0.

 

I’m not going completist with the IF Autobots (skipping most of them, honestly). But that Cliffjumper is charming. And I could use a CJ to hang out with my handful of SG Legends. Might get him just for that!

It looks like Cliffjumper's transformation will not be inspired by G1 (not that it needs to be, of course). His feet seemingly become the rear of the vehicle and it appears the vehicle headlights are on his shoulders. I have to imagine a Bumblebee repaint would be obvious, so perhaps this is all a function of finding a way to make the transformation work for both characters.

 

Yep skipping Wheeljack and getting Cliff. Will also get Soundwave and the rest of the DJDs. After that I am getting out of legends collecting.

Don't know how I managed to miss the latest CJ pics, but glad I'm caught up. Wow. What a huge difference. He looked like a possible pass at the early stages, but he has cleaned up well to say the least. And @DrCalligari is right, that's pretty much the best CJ face sculpt I've seen.

 

So, did we lose the stripes? This look different than the last colored pics we saw with white stripes and blue on the headlights and tail lights?

 

I think so. And that's ok with me - like him better without the white stripes.

I also preferred the additional colors, but the pics may be of a test shot. Just have to wait for official images.

Yeah, before these pics I think I would have said I prefer him with stripes... but looking at them side by side with the new shots, I actually think I like him better without. G1 Cliffjumper always had a slight vibe of "kid wearing devil Halloween costume," and something about making this more unbroken red captures that a bit more to me. I like the cleanness.

And yeah, that leaves more space for an Autobot logo.

 

I also was a fan of the stripes - helped break him up a bit - but losing them won't turn this into a no-buy. Just a bit of a bummer.

Looks like the design is inspired by the original IDW “-tion” EJ Su design for Bumblebee. Which is fantastic, IMO. I loved that design and have long wanted to see a figure of it. Definitely getting it, and expect IF to do a Bumblebee retool, which will be insta-bought. First time I’m excited about a probable Bumblebee in, well, ever.

And can’t wait to see where they go next. I’m probably in for most anything they put out at this point. By far my favorite currently ongoing line.

 

The headlights on the shoulders and the hood as the chest was an interesting look. Definitely better than Camaro BB. Wouldn't mind the EJ Su Hardhead, Nightbeat, Ratchet, Hot Rod and Ironhide to go with CJ.

 

Sameee, I have an unfinished design in solidworks that tries to nail the look from the comic to exactness, but to do that I had to switch the front parts with the back parts of the vw kibble to make it clean up well, which made for a very slightly inaccurate alt mode. Hope if pulls through with bumble bee tho
