Imo, I do not think any company can create a good looking Rodimus, the character completely sucks. It's a crappy alt mode, and Rodimus in bot notbis unremarkable. Galavtron has "hotness" a opposing bot mode with a beast alt mode. Ultra Magnus has a great bot mode and alt mode. This is my opinion, and would like to be proven wrong with my assessment of Rodimus Prime.

I think TT’s Ultra Magnus is perfect (blocky and not too posable but nails the look). Their Rodimus looks old as hell though and needs a new mold

just as long as whomever does a new Rodimus doesn't try to make the trailer and the cab transform into one bot, it makes no sense to try to make it an all in one. it doesn't hurt anything to make a cab/robot and battle platform separate bits, just as long as they don't do the hot rod into rodimus thing.

I'm fighting with myself over picking this up or not. I have largely tried to avoid falling down the Movie rabbit hole as I could really not afford it previously but with a recent promotion I have been play catchup.

As of this moment for a movie display I'm going to have TT Ultra Magnus, TT Hotrod, FT Tesla, MMC Saultus and MMC Azalea. I'm curious if FT Coot and Jabber would fit well with this lineup.

Odd. I find MP-22 to be far more acceptable than Carry. He's blocky and his articulation sucks but at least he looks like the character while Carry has this weird aesthetic that doesn't match anything. But yeah, I agree that we could use a better Magnus. But I also think we could use a better Rodimus.

Not for me, though: I have the Hasbro Rodimus (painted his legs to be like the Takara) and the thf Magnus and I don't like either of these characters enough to replace them should better versions come out. Well, maybe Magnus but it'd have to be a damned impressive figure for me to bother upgrading.

I would like the answer to why they put the screw holes on the inside of his thighs to mess up the sculpt than to have it in the rear to hide it.

How cool the character is or how much the alt mode design sucks isn’t the criteria for whether a good toy can be made of him. The criteria simply is how well the toy replicates the designs for alt and bot mode while being functional.

That and the pins on the front of the upper arms bother me.
The mess of holes and screws on the thighs is a major eyesore.

I doubt anyone will attempt Blurr again, so it's between Buzzing and Jabber ......and that's pretty much a no-brainer.

You can't prove an opinion wrong. And you can't prove it right either. There is no such thing.
It's just an opinion. There is no right or wrong about it.
If I don't like the taste of grapes, that has nothing to do with right or wrong. It's just my opinion.
    Same with any opinion.

My opinions are babies come from storks, 1+1=45, and opinions can’t be proven right or wrong.

When opinions conflict with facts they can be wrong. Now preferences are another story.

Call me mad, but I still love MP09 Rodimus (well, once I gave him some proper articulated hands). Awful transformation, but I doubt a fanstoys version would be better in that respect.

Anyway, still hoping for an October release for Jabber. That hole in the movie cast shelf is getting unbearable...

I disagree. With how FT handled Motormaster, I think they can do a damm good take on an all in one transformation for Rodimus.

I think XTB might give it a go. They did Wreckgar, Cyclonus, and Scourge, after all. But so what. I need my movie bots to be hard to transform so that it's made of sterner stuff.

A new Ultra Magnus might just blow me out of the water. Bonus points if he can be "blown apart". I mean if TT can do the whole Jazz being torn to two pieces gimmick as part of their MPM-9 offering, a 3P can do the same for Magnus?

I doubt they would to either since there is a masterpiece version. They do not seem to want to cross paths except for Soundwave. For instance, I'm sure Fans Tosy would be able to make a great seeker. I would rather have them focus on bots not yet made in masterpiece like a good Cliff Jumper. I'm even fine with my version 2 Xtransbots Wheelie. I would like to see Fanstoys finish Trailblazer and Hoist as well at Blitswing and Astrotrain as well as the minibus they have shown and combiner bots.

Didn't they silhouette Cliffjumper a while back, with the Brawn reveal iirc?

He's the only minibot I'm holding out on. The rest I can take or leave tbh.

eh, don't care for the origami backpack on FT MM. but, that is just my opinion and preference, I'm happy for the ones who do like him, options are good and all that.
