Figure looks amazing. Always wanted a SS-38 Optimus Prime but I did find him a little on the small side, might have to pick this up.

This actually looks really good. Only wish if that whenever they upscaled the mold they gave it articulated hands.

 

How strange... didn't WJ say they were getting out of the OSKO side of things? Not that I mind - I like my various WJ OSKOs.

The mention in the KO thread suggests it's "improved". I wonder how? The backpack looks like a missed opportunity.

The second set of hands (above the batteries on the right of the clamshell in picture 2, above the rifle in picture 3) appear to be at least partially articulated. There looks to be at least two pins in the fingers, and possibly some kind of joint (possibly a ball?) at the base of the thumb.

 

I missed that, paint and articulated fingers are upgrades this mold needed.

Between those pictures and the text on TransFans, it seems like... all grey parts are painted either metallic or chrome (stacks, tanks, and hubs), the chest panels are diecast (hence the glossy look), articulated hands are provided (2 pins in the fingers in 1 + 3 config, thumb on closer inspection appears fixed), an MPP10 trailer hitch, rubber tyres, light up eyes (blegh), and a Matrix, all at roughly the same size as WJ's regular OS figures.

I still feel like there was a missed opportunity with the back panel, but colour me interested.

*Ed: Oh, and if the KO thread is anything to go by, it should be out this month (September) for RM180, which is about US$43. Not sure what retailer that's from, or if it's wholesale.

Cool - A lovely Complement to the M1 Commander too.
Though now I'll have to buy another suitably size 2007 Optimus too I guess.

I would say this though to anyone thinking of making hands for this - please consider making them compatible with the M1 Commander too as his lack of replacement hands is a real need on that toy. The only ones that fit are no longer made (the non-knuckle duster UFO hands)
