Have you ever considered remaking a whole episode? I also loved the work you did with LazyEyebrowReviewer.

Stop motion animation is ridiculously time consuming. It probably took him hours to create those two seconds of animation.

Timelord's not going to make an entire episode without getting paid for it. Or just being so fabulously wealthy that he's just got fuck off time to do that sort of thing for shits and giggles. Or both, as per Travis Knight of Laika (and director of Bumblebee).

That is freaking beautiful!! I was hoping you'd do this. I love both you, and the chromed windscreen wipers (and grab bars) in truck mode! :)  Was that done on computer only, or you've actually modified your figure?

I was wondering - did MP-44's design help you out here - I mean specifically that you don't need the waist rotation during transformation, and you can literally have the cab starting to stand up with the hip and knee joints like he does in the cartoon - something you cant really do with MP-10 or 1? Did that help you create those frames with less cheating?

Yes, and there's a good reason a high percentage of my gifs are from G1 episode one. But also, see below.
Lol, indeed. The best I can do is cobble bits together over a period of years, and one day, (perhaps in time for the 45th anniversary!) I hope I might finish one episode. It will of course then be followed by a hundred "when's the next episode?" comments.
Thanks! Yes I added the silver wipers and bars on mine (considered doing the entire window frame, but just wasn't sure it would work considering the seams, plus the discrepancy with bot mode chest might be pushing things too far), inspired of course by previous MP versions (and the Jada diecast model). I did the grab bars on my MP-10 too. I also added some panel lining which I generally do with my MPs (helps them to look a little less toy-like on camera).

As far as transformation, there's so much going on it was just easier to cheat! So the cab as it lowers down is a separate element, the legs and knees are in an impossible position (he can't lie with his legs out and have the thighs bent at the knee) and the rear end is another separate element.

Why in Primus should ANYONE have to go through all that just to bend a leg on a $300 plus toy?

Agreed those wipers really help him pop in alt mode imho. But I'm still a sucker for the real world alt mode detail and as much as I love foon accuracy haven't warmed to the plus repaints, thought Sunstreaker could have used a few more paint apps, and MP-44 too, especially since with his transforming windows design and dissapearing truck sides, a little more alt mode paint detail would not have impacted the bot mode!

How did you do the silver wipers if I might ask? I'm really really tempted to do that on mine!

Window frames tempting too, but I note they are black on the real truck. I'm toying with how that would look too, but I think since MP-44s window frames are sculpted pretty thick compared to the real truck, they might look a little too much if painted.

What I'm even more interested in, but will likely never have the time or resources to realise, is make new lower window frame parts (the originals seem to pop right off!) that overlap the glass more to give him the less tall windows that the real truck has and MP-10 nailed. Again it's a bit of a missed opportunity imho since they could have done this without impact to bot mode, but I can understand why they went with the more cartoon accurate squarer windows.

As much as I agree with what your saying, for alot of us it a better option than paying shipping fees to send it back. Or in my case find the company I've purchased from simply wont take it back.

I'm just thankful that there are people like @BrutiKing and @Jarrod who are willing to share their work in order to help us all out.

Makes a lot of sense and isn't it awesome that Takara made both figures so each camp can have the figure they want :buttrock

I'm intrigued to see what a possible '+' version alt mode will look like, with window frames/wipers detailed, grey stripe around the cab and blue lines on the trailer deco (and traditional logos of course), because I suspect I'll prefer it to MP-44's alt mode... The trouble is, I have no complaints about bot mode, and no doubt + will mean uber-toy (including head and 'sticker' detailing) which IMHO just doesn't suit a figure with the proportions of the toon (no love for Megatron+ from me). So adding a couple of details to MP-44 myself is the best option (I used a silver Sharpie, but only because the pot of silver Humbrol I was going to use has turned to stone).

I haven't bothered much with + repaints for the same reasons as you (even with the original MP decos I still used to add extra details myself like door handles or indicator lights to carbots, so to see all the lovely sculpted real world bits dismissively painted over is a step backwards). But that's another discussion.

The replacement sent by Amazon.co.jp was missing a foot. D'oh! I don't think I want to go through the replacement process again right now. Oh well.

I daresay Optimus Prime v3 and Bumblebee v2 haven't made your job any easier there! You have to decide whether to keep the old ones or update them.

The dude is a legitimate autobot surgeon. In fact, we should probably just start calling him Ratchet.
