I love fembots, I love how different they look from the usual malebots that have been so dominant in the franchise for many years and if there's something that fembots have in common is that they use melee weapons.



Arcee, Chromia and Windblade in IDW are famous for using swords, axes and blades respectively and that has become a trend that I personally love and that can even seen in recent examples like Greenlight and Lancer that use, well, lances. The idea of female Transformers sharing such theme is really cool and makes me wonder what other kind of weapons they can implement on them.

Power of the Primes is bringing a new set of fembots in fact like Elita-1, Moonracer and Firestar/Novastar and while they're pretty good (aside from a few flaws), they're lacking in solid accesories. I wish a 3P would create melee weapons for them just like Beelzeboss did for Arcee and Chromia, maybe a fire sword for Firestar, a spear for Moonracer and an axe for Elita-1 that is reminiscent of Optimus' classic weapon.

But I'm also saying "accessories" in a bigger sense since I also want a better headsculpt for Firestar that makes her look more like her IDW incarnation (which is by far her best look). Dr. Wu, Beelzeboss, anyone, I would definitely buy this kind of stuff.

 

I'm also a big fan of Dr. Wu Pole Swords which perfectly in someone like Road Rage. Although I must say that I prefer melee weapons that are made of energy like Generations Arcee's sword, translucent plastic looks the best.

 

There's a bevy of designers filling in HasTak blanks on Shapeways.com. Ariel's Customs just did a combining weapon set for the potp dinohot combiner thing. There's lots of great plastic weapon options to pick from.

God, I had a bad experience with Shapeways last year. They charged me a lot for the shipping and somehow messed-up and wanted me to pay to get the package once that it arrived to Peru.

Still, I don't like their products so much. They look really rough and lack the kind of polish that you can find in most 3P offerings like Beelzeboss and Dr. Wu. I'm especially a fan of Beelzeboss, they don't release things too frequently but what they do is really good, their weapons in clear plastic look wonderful and their headsculpts have really great light piping.

 

Can they also make some fembots to go with the accessories?

 

The textured surface is indeed a downside to 3d printed things. Moulded stuff starts with a much nicer finish.

 

As long as they make them Deluxe-size because unless we're talking about Strika or a few others, bigger than that would make them out of scale.

 

So, I finally got POTP Moonracer and I absolutely adore her!



She has a fantastic colour-scheme, probably my favorite among recent fembots, this tone of green mixed with white really pops. Her proportions are pretty solid as well and she's just the right scale to go along with the other well-sized female Transformers. Yes, the backpack is pretty obnoxious and I think this could have been avoided simply by not making her a combiner limb but still, is pretty easy to ignore.

Now that I have her though, I wish some 3P would make an accesory for her and I know exactly what I want:



This sort of Energon bo staff fits her really well I believe while also making her very unique among her partners and of course, fitting with the whole theme of "fembots use melee weapons!". Please somebody do this!

 

I just needed to bump this thread because Dr. Wu delivered exactly what I was asking for!



The Valkyrja set offers what every fembot needs: Melee weapons and pretty cool ones at that. The swords are beautifully painted in silver while looking and fitting really well in Siege Chromia's hands.



And while the swords were the main reason why I picked this set, the guns are also pretty cool with a nice finish. Also, check how well the swords can be stored in Chromia's backpack.

Now if you ask me if all of the weapons can be stored at the same time:


They actually can! There are other ways to store them all but I found this to be the best looking one.

Now comes the even bigger question though, can these weapons be stored in vehicle mode?


And they actually can too!

I was pretty surprised to find out that the guns can fit into the pegs where the other accessories of Siege Chromia are stored. The swords are a bit more tricky since the way they're put into the vehicle can be fiddly but it gets the job done and makes them look like exhaust pipes which is a nice touch.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this set and makes me wonder if Dr. Wu had some knowledge that Chromia was going to be repainted into Nightbird since these swords are particularly perfect for her, hope there are new ones releasing in gold now.

Wish more Third Parties would follow suit, my Elita-1 combiner team needs their respective melee weapons and no, guns are never enough for fembots.

 

I mean, more options for weapons in general is always good, but I prefer both male and female TFs use both guns and melee weapons. Fembots primarily using melee weapons sounds pointless and unnecessary. Girls with guns are badass too.

 

Eh, is mostly because guns are so overused as Transformers weapons that I'm just tired of them. Plus, fembots with melee weapons is something that has become trendy and makes them seem even more distinctive.

 

Just IMO here:

1. Melee weapons have always been stylish
2. Guns are badass, but Transformers often drops the ball on making them look cool in the first place
3. Transformers of all gender have the right to have both cool firearms and melee weapons

 

I could use a MP scale TF Prime Arcee soon.

 

Dr Wu, Beezleboss, and Matrix workshop all made fembot weapons

 

Dr. Wu and Beelzeboss yes as I've already mentioned.

Matrix Workshop only did a boring set of guns (and with a worse finish as I've seen).

You know what we need? Better feet and hands for the Elita 1 combiner, especially now that Lancer is coming to complete the set.

Cool, maybe someone could make like a baby stroller accessory with side mounted bazookas that can triple change into a stove top with a frying pan or something.
