    On the surface, I'm happy.
But knowing that they got RDM's blessing makes me weary; I don't wish to undergo that level of depression again.

Not gonna say the 70's version holds up... but I appreciated their tone of hope and optimism amidst their ruin.

I like the social commentary and introspection of the previous reboot--although enough things were exactly like contemporary Earth that the show's more grounded approach crossed over into being uncanny for me. The original show's sense of adventure and its similarity in tone and aesthetics to Star Wars are also a good thing IMO. I'd love to see the next iteration strike a balance between the two. Less campy than the classic, but not "modern Earth, but inside a space ship." More serious and mature than the original, but not a grimdark soap opera.

But more than anything else, I'd like it to have an actual, satisfying ending in mind this time and not be nearly as "made up as we go along"

I say leave out the human Cylon thing (aka, save $$$ just using people and say they are robots) and stick to the classic Centurions.

I hope it's based off the 70's/80's version and not that SyFy channel pile of shit.

No need for another reboot. They'll never top the near perfect Edward James Olmos series. Especially not with something created for NBC. And screw yet another streaming service anyway.

Why don't they remake Buck Rogers instead? That actually needs an update.

Hey, NBC, you are owned by Comcast. You already have streaming services. It's called Cable and On Demand.

Completely disagree. A guy found dead in an alley from alcohol poisoning has already topped RDM's BSG.

    Agree completely

As much as I love the original classic series and how the 2nd series was nearly 4 solid seasons of perfection this 3rd iteration better impress or I'm going back to watching series 1 and 2.

I could dig a new Buck Rogers show; it was camp and cheesy - at least what I saw of it - but it was also charming and earnest.

Didn't they use that in the remake as the Colonial Anthem or something?

I only remember hearing it once when Lucy Lawless came on as some type of documentarian or journalist and she cut the theme into the news story she did.

And then she was a Cylon.

That’s the only time I recall the theme being used.

A variation was also used when Adama left Galactica for the last time.

The reboot Battlestar Galactica will always be my favourite Sci-Fi show ever. I can’t remember any other time I’ve been as engrossed in the characters and stories of a TV series and sharing the show with my best friend and fiancé with late night marathons are treasured memories. Because of this though I hold zero interest in another version of the BSG universe, especially if it leans more towards the original series I honestly don’t care about the original series’ canon or even its existence beyond it being the jumping point for something I love and therefore another adaptation it as series is meaningless to me. Reboot BSG will always be my definitive Sci-Fi because of the story it told in spite of what it was rebooting, not because of it.

Having tastes as terrible as yours is literally a feat. Not a feat to be proud of, but a feat nonetheless.

I loved the reboot up till Exodus or so. Like many others, I hated how it ended.

I would give this a shot, if I could watch it. But I'm not going to pay for NBC's streaming service. Not for only one show.
