That's actually a cool idea to consider and it'd be a grand way to do not only an Arcee figure that's different from the last two Generations attempts at her but to also give the people who wanted her to win a chance at owning her upgraded Prime figure. Sure one can make the arguement that it won't happen since Hound was in the POTP vote roster but never got an upgraded form in Siege and not to mention in a line where gimmicks/armor ups are more or less reserved to the characters who actually had them in G1 such a thing wouldn't happen for Arcee. However Shockwave also never got an armor up gimmick in the original G1 line and story but that didn't stop Siege from giving him one anyway so who's to say the same can't be done for Arcee?

 

Shockwave really only got one so they could get away with his gun mode though

 

Well, there is some precedent as while the G1 TOY of Ultra Magnus had the inner robot, to my knowledge that never showed up in the Sunbow continuity or Marvel comics I believe?
I had forgotten Hound was in that vote admittedly. Then again I wasn't back in the community when that happened  

Edit: Another thought with Arcee which could be an interesting bit of continuity welding would be if they SOMEHOW had a bike Arcee who could armour up into original car Arcee with both robot and alt mode... but that would likely not be leader scale and I'm not even entirely sure how that'd work   I just had the idea remembering that card art of an Arcee that's a hybrid of G1 and Prime ^^

 

A legend sized bike might fit under a Voyager car like how Batman's bike came out of the assault vehicle in The Dark Knight

 

As great as Omega is, a WFC Trilogy Titan Class Scorponock would be amazing if they follow the WFC trend etc

 

I still think the Leader will be Doubledealer. There’s no third party version. And it’s easy to forget the Blitzwing repaint. And while it’s not an armored car per se, it’s a military vehicle.

 

I think Shockwave got one because the design that would've become Shockwave Prime got redone and put out there in Siege. Hound and Arcee could've been planned retools/repaints of existing PotP leaders, so there was no new design to salvage for Siege.

I've been on board with Leader DD from the word go. Lots of reuse potential if done correctly.

 

Personally I’ve never agreed with that theory simply because the design philosophies behind siege leaders are too different from potp leaders, the fan vote designs would have had to be completely redesigned. For potp leaders the trailers formed the complete legs, arms (except rodimus upper arms), waist and abdomen while the core bot becomes the chest and head. Siege leaders on the other hand have a core bot whose limbs are also the upgraded modes limbs, the “trailers” are just armor pieces and not significant portions of the combined modes body

 

What if "armored car" is actually "armored truck" and it's a new Ultra Magnus again with a G1 alt mode instead of the RID alt mode?

 

I could see this, and I would be disappointed.

 

G1 altmode is his earth mode though, he has the same cab as earth mode prime. That’s why they went for rid01s truck mode

This. Catz first said the character didn’t have an update and came back and said he did but it wasn’t true to the character. He also said this character doesn’t have a 3P update. Still fits with Doubledealer.

 

Glad to know there’s others in the Doubledealer club. He’s the only person that really fits imo. Bulkhead even doesn’t.

 

Can Doubledealer really be considered an armored "car" though? All the other criteria fit him, but he's not a car. I would be very happy to be proven wrong though by a leader class Doubledealer; leader class would ensure he gets a honking huge missile & powermasters!

 

I could see Doubledealer, especially if the armored vehicle could be a 'premold' for CD Red Alert (and then hopefully Selects Stalker) to go with Hotshot

 

Give me an Impactor remold as CD Scattorshot too and I’m sold!
