Aw man, that’s a bummer. Thanks for the warning... I hope you’re able to get a replacement! I guess that’s the benefit of the more flexible MS plastic.

Inferno is definitely wishing it were tougher stuff.

Some comparison pics of the new MFT Truck Boys...

    Grapples L-R: MS, MFT, Papa:

    A face-to-face comparison of Papa & MFT:
    20190912_112419.jpg
(Papa is just a liiiiiiittle bit taller at the head and shoulders, but MFT's back kibble makes him slightly taller overall)

Here's Inferno with MFT Grimlock and Jinbao's OSKO Dutch:

For comparison, here's how Papa Grapple looks with Jinbao's Prime:

All-in-all very pleased with these two. Very nice quality and bright poppy colors plus some lovely head sculpts. The additional accessories are awesome too.

Nice you beat me to the comparison photo spread. I got my MFT set on Saturday but have just been too busy to sit down with them and do this. The only comp shots I would (will, if you don't) add is 1) alt modes and 2) with HS Prime (my go-to Prime for Legends+). Regardless, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this. I was really torn on wither to keep my papa toys figures or get the MFT ones. There are things I like about both and neither really takes it for me. I'm inclined to lean slightly towards the MFT figures, but not enough to swap.

I mainly collect the MFT stuff, but I like the Papa Toys mainly for some details especially the black windows.

What are your thoughts about the different molds @kingmob75 ?

I kinda wondered if the transformations MST uses might be more fragile using different plastics and guess that answers the question. I hope they took that into account with Ultra Magnus.
I like the blue windows and sirens MFT added; too bad MST doesn't like repaints the way NA does.

Thanks for the comparison shots. Will just stick with my PPT set for now. Only thing that really shines for me on MFT is that the crane sits closer to the body in bot mode.

I will post some more pics this weekend, unless you beat me to it!

I still have a soft spot for the Papa versions - something nice and chunky about them, love the swappable faces [although MFT's head sculpts are better IMHO] and they're very well-balanced. Only negative for me on the PPT molds are the weird shoulder joints.

Got MFT Inferno and Grapple in the mail today from Baba. Good looking bots but super tight joints. I mean every joint I tried to move. After seeing the busted Inferno that @NOCV posted, I’m going to lube every joint before I do anything else with these guys.

Edit to add: I've sat down with Inferno and some shock oil. Every joint I tried (shoulders, elbows, knees hips, etc.) were tight. Shock oil remedied them. Then I sat about on the joints he uses for transformation. The one that caused trouble with NOCV's was a bear. I don't know that lubing it really helped. Maybe a little. The first few times I used a spudger to shift it. I can also reach into the cab and kind of push it from there without the spudger but it may just be easier to go that way unless it wears with use.

What brand of shock oil do you use/recommend?

Someone in the forum (wish I could credit who but I don't remember) linked to this in the past.

    https://www.amazon.com/Team-Associated-Weight-Silicone-2-Ounce/dp/B0006N6S6G/

That's what I've been using. And I just noticed for the first time they have the same oil in other weights. I have no idea if a different weight would be a better choice than others. All I can say is this is what I have been using. None of the figures I've used it on so far needed another dose later. Well, to date anyway and I bought my bottle over a year ago. Have baaarely made a dent in it.

Received mine today. First impressions are very good. I’ll have a full review of both and photo gallery soon. Love all the accessories, the size, and the head sculpts!

if you collect MFT, you'll have fun using that LOL that's what i noticed with my predominantly MFT figures, with the surprising exception of Hound. tightness on my Hound is just right.
