I just got mine and I LOVE this one. The actual G1 figure has always been on my bucket list, but this one will tide me over for some time. It's gonna rock with my other Diaclone bots!

 

Feel any better compared to skids?

 

In which area are you asking about?

 

Like the shoulders. Do they peg in stronger and the bicep swivel isn’t as tight which makes it unpeg? And the windscreen pegs, are they easier to unpeg?

 

The windscreen pegs are a nightmare. I think everything else is pretty solid on mine.

 

But the shoulder assembly works properly?

 

The color scheme and the head sculpt really sell it. It also got me into getting the police deco version as well.

 

I don't have enough room to display everyone, so Herald has been back in the box for a while now. But I don't remember any problems with a droopy arm or tight shoulders like some people experienced with Savant. (I don't have Savant myself.)

 

Ah okay. See savant had a problem where the panel that pegs into the shoulder didn’t work well. Which coupled with a tight bicep swivel made it constantly unpeg. I just got him recently and he has this issue. So for future releases like Taiho it’d be cool if this was fixed.

 

I would generally recommend Crosscut, he looks fantastic and the paint is amazing. but the QC and general design is still a bit backwards. the way the legs transform is really dumb and makes you put stress on the tires(mine already have splits) the paint on the feet chips easily, the way the arms fold out from the alt mode is really frustrating and makes you put pressure on the chair sections while trying to pull them out. folding out the head doesn't feel right. the shoulders are strangely limited and I find the position of the elbow kind of awkward for posing. the ab crunch is way, way too loose, and the Mirrors being made out of very thin rubber worries me, I wish they would have just given it the door mirrors instead, or given you the option or something.
overall its a good toy and the best Crosscut we'll probably see ever, but its not perfect and requires some careful handling. if you're not a fan of complex transformations its definitely not for you, I personally love em.

he looks practically perfect though, if you only care about how he looks on the shelf. his headsculpt is like literally perfect.

 

Right. I mean I just don’t want a crosscut and nothing is gonna change that. The police version though? Very exciting.

 

Different strokes, as the eHobby Crosscut is on my short list of things I want, but I just can't swing right now. This has been my MO with a few of these figures and other Diaclone releases, as I know I'll never be able to full on collect vintage Diaclone like I'd want. These figures are an affordable way for me to enjoy them.

 

Exactly. And this is basically trading vintage original quality for high grade action figure performance.

 

Hey squad this is a stretch but anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement door from XTB? My beloved boy took a cat-inspired shelf dive and his right door/wing snapped off. Pretty clean break but even using plastic weld I can't get it to stay together. Just screws right back on, it'd be damn easy to replace.

I had one of the door wings break off on my Skids during his first transformation. Never could get it fixed. Maybe I'll try this myself, would love to have him whole. It was ultimately my fault, I was probably going a bit fast for such a thin joint, but I still think that particular joint is not well designed.

 

I don't know about XTB, but KFC is p good about offering replacement bits. I got my Stinger legs and they only asked for the shipping fees(granted, they wanted me to pay 27$ in shipping at first for tracked and insured, but I got them down to an untracked packet for 5$ eventually)

 

Not sure why they are not releasing Taiho yet. Really annoying.
