To be honest I like both of their hands better than my Magic Square. The extra articulation in his fingers make his hands a bit too big in some positions. I would've rather had an extra wrist joint instead of all that finger movement.

Just got the metallic square prime, I love it. While I still prefer my TE on my season 1 shelf, I have square with zeta superion facing off with despotron leading tw devy into battle. Metallic square and despotron really compliment each other.

Being in this thread has made me want an MS01 now. See.. For me it goes like this...
TE01 is the cartoon season 2-3 and 86 Movie.

MS01 an upgraded successor to MP10 has for me anyway, an IDW comic quality to him. For me, MS01 is a perfect comic book prime masterpiece.

While MP44 is a more realistic take on the cartoon.

While I won't pay for the official. I would, get a KO. I'm actually thinking about getting MS01 now and some color variants. For me he's an IDW G1 prime. Now all I need is his new format from their comics, and I can have a comic art section with them there.

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you pick one up. His articulation really is phenomenal but his feel takes a little getting used to. My only complaint is that his shoulders aren't ratcheted back and forth. Side or out is racheted and the butterfly works great, but I did eventually have to add nail polish for the back and forth friction joint.

I'm still enjoying TE-01 and TE-01B. I'm glad to report that there are still no knee issues on them. :D

if you can fix it without spending extra money... yes. also if you pay full price for a non running ferarri , that stupidity is on you.

Or if you can return the ferrari and get a new one....... yes its acceptable... its not ideal but crap happens and you have to ACCEPT IT. as long as you arent screwed over... its acceptable.

Damn another awesome new MP marketing slogan out of you! I didn't think it would get better than
"If it's fixable its acceptable" but I'm happy to have been proven wrong!

"Crap happens and you have to ACCEPT IT"

Bet they print that on the Unicron box!

No one "has" to accept anything. Acceptance is an emotional and mental state. And a personal decision, not up for debate on the premise of others' opinions. There are plenty of things one can do nothing about in life. Accepting them is another matter. There are some things I will go to my grave never accepting. And if people have a problem with that...

... they "have to ACCEPT IT." :p

What you accept or don't is your decision not mine. And what I accept or don't is my decision, not yours.

I have all 3 (Gen Toys Prime, MS Prime and TE Prime) and they are all good in their own way. Articulation wise both MS and Gen Toy are more articulated compared to TE but TE is the most solid, thing's built like a brick. If you have the cash, get all of them, you won't regret it (your wallet probably will tho lol)

What's up with MP-44's wedge butt? It's not even that he has a large butt, it's that there's like a back-crotch.

I think they went for this:

    EvolutionOfOptimus_Back.jpg

... but then extended it to match the "invisible line" of the backpack to create the impression of a continuous contour. Compromise between toon accuracy and backpack "lines" compensation, sort of. Due to the size of the backpack.

I can't stand it either. In fact, I'm not a fan of MP-44 from any angle other than pretty much head on... What with having a knee broken out of the box, warped antennae and some minor paint issues I am feeling slightly ripped off. The latter two issues I can live with as they're 'acceptable' QC variances (although the paint chipping on the crotch piece does look to be a real issue once it starts to go), but the knees are inexcusable, both in design and execution. There's no way HasTak couldn't have known they were problematic. I knew I should have trusted my gut and stuck with TE-01 like I planned to do. I was seduced at the eleventh hour by my love of toon accuracy and a desire to judge for myself. I received an annual bonus from work last month and MP-44 pretty much accounted for all of that after tax. I don't feel it is worth it at all, but you live and (hopefully) learn.

On the other hand, my TE-01 is still going strong and I've just ordered the V3 to compliment it. I honestly feel like it's the better engineered and constructed figure, even if it's not quite as contoured, 'shiny' or articulate (it's not that far behind though). My V3 was released from Heathrow customs today so should be with me this week all being well.

I feel like Mega Steel Not-Megatron should be reminded each time when there are any claims about how 3P is judged by other standards when it comes to QC and build quality. It wasn't a $300+ MP collectible and it still wasn't a success based on its QC fumbles alone. Also, depending on your luck, Not-Bludgeon Susanoo counts too.

That's the lesson TakTom needs to learn. Let too many copies of an otherwise good design be faulty and it's going to cost you money.

While they're at it, redesign that huge backpack.
