Yeah looking at some refence material, you are correct, I remember him being taller though, probably just due to the fact that he could house frickin devastator inside his shuttle form, but like you say, robot scale.

That's strange. Because I remember siege-hardliners claim there was actually more plastic and even some die-cast :lol
If you can't see the quality has gone down since TR than I don't know what pills you're popping.
We have less of the things that make a great figure and more of the things people who want them can add themselves.

you mean foil stickers that peel off in the package, limited articulation (no ankles, no waists etc), and noticeably gappy places on 90% of the figures? because those were some of the most egregious issues people had with tr and potp that siege sorts out. do some figures still have gappy spots? yes, but not nearly as many as before.

Not to mention loose ball joints. Siege swaps out all the ball joints for pinned joints, much tighter tolerances (usually) and much better joint system overall.

Only mold I've had an issue with is Magnus and GPrime when they are armoured, there left leg tends to get a bit floppy due to the weight.

Apart from that little niggle, the line has been fantastic, problem is, with people that hate the line anyway, they have either bought one figure, and it was broke out of the box, or have simply seen pictures and jumped to a conclusion.

Which honestly, is a shame, siege is what fans have wanted for the best part of 35 years.

As someone who's largely been satisfied with Hasbro's output from tail-end of solo Generations/CW era onwards, can I chime in? A lot of y'all know I got back into getting the toys fairly late as an adult (around 2010...been a Transformers fan of the fiction however since I was a kid in the 80s) so I missed out on a lot of the earlier lines like the Unicron Trilogy and back bought them off of Ebay. So I get that the older toys were hella bulky, heavy and durable (I swear in some of those figs there's more screws than actual joints :D ). Not to mention the articulation and ratchet joints. Great line.

But at the same time, I don't see the dropping of quality that it seems Hasbro's increasingly been tagged with since around CW (and/or if you're a movieverse fan, DotM). Just a different approach to design. The CW/TR/PotP trilogy of toys (TO ME) was some of the best figs we've gotten in ages for a variety of reasons. We got figs of people that either haven't had a good toy (or ever) while others got reeeeaaally nice updates. Were some of them gappy? Absolutely (particularly the combiner limbs). But at the same time, they looked great all the same and that trilogy is fun. I played with those figs more than any other line prior. It's weird to me to take issue with the lack of ankle tilt when some of the most well built Transformers lack it in prior lines. To me, I don't see how the lack of ankle tilt makes them "limited in articulation." Not when you can still hit so many dynamic poses without.

Similarly, with the new Seige line, they've downsized and went all in on the model route like Gundam or Macross, charging not necessarily for size (which was the prior thinking) but for what you're actually getting. So you're seeing a 9-inch Ultimate Cyberverse Grimlock at the same price as *barely* Voyager/large deluxe sized PotP Grimlock. All the Seige figs are smaller than prior lines but at the same time, they're really well built and well designed and not as gappy. Seige, despite being smaller, are really well built figs that takes advantage of the smaller size to go all in on the detail. Articulation is about the same as prior lines but overall, Siege is like the best of both worlds: the more durable and solid Unicron Trilogy but with more modern transformation techniques and plastic usage.

TLDR version: You're both off your rockers as both of the lines you're disparaging/defending are great in their own unique ways and Hasbro really should be getting praise (especially lately). :D

Thrilling 30 Blitzwing will be Siege Astrotrain's companion.

It's funny how TR Astrotrain goes better with Siege's future/Cybertron vehicle mode than Siege's close to earth modes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the prime wars (hell I think I’m one of the few that really likes potp rodimus), not really trying to disparage them, just trying to point out that really the only thing siege lacks is height (and even some older figures are of similar size). To say siege has dropped in quality is false

This, but don't be surprised if early leaks happen at a handful of Walmarts or Targets like earlier this year. Don't absolutely bank on them, but don't be surprised, either. This year, and last, has been really weird for collectors. I've never seen this much new product at actual physical retail in a decade. Seriously, the internet became a necessity for a lot of people for a while, there. Nowadays, you see people say things like "Oh, I'd never buy Hasbro Transformers at BBTS." and they used to be right because sooner or later (usually later) you'd see them hit mass retail and maybe even at clearance pricing. But during Energon and onward, sometimes the only way to finish a line was BBTS. And their prices weren't higher than MSRP at the time!

Now, with Brickseek, you can pretty much find what you're looking for at Walmart if you're persistent enough. I think that's part of the reason why they haven't blocked Brickseek, they know it'll net 'em a sale. Why Target doesn't follow suit is beyond me.

Tangent/ I'm guessing that the big box stores are asking Hasbro for exclusives, so maybe there's a bigger INTERNAL push from the big box stores to have well stocked toy shelves? After all, if you spend money on getting exclusives from Hasbro, then you better make sure your shelves look good.

Walmart has been getting home runs with their G1 reissues. Target got home runs with Redwing and the Rainmakers. Amazon got home runs with their exclusives too. Walgreens will get a lot of foot traffic once Ratchet shows up in the US.

I am super curious what exclusives we'll get next year.

I think its impossible for individual stores to determine how much product of a current wave to stock or if its better to just withhold re-ordering product and waiting for the next wave to be released. You can't predict customer interest. But this year toy shelves seem to be doing okay in my region. Usually the current wave is 1-2 months behind (I'm finally seeing saturation of Refracktor, Red Alert, Jetfire, etc). But I also think that's kind of normal. Fans are impatient (that's normal too).

Lastly, I concur with Shepard Prime's comments. Only 2cents I'll add is that I personally don't feel let down by what I'm paying and what I'm getting. Older lines are not bad (I collected lots of TR) but Siege is really keeping up with the high standards of great design and sometimes exceeding them too (IMO).

With Apeface being in plastic again, i have to wonder where's Snapdragon or is he being left out? I mean they really can't leave Snapdragon out cause hes part of the horrorcons. I really can't wait to get these 4 new figures. They are going to be awesome sitting on a shelf behind me.

Yeah I remember that too, the panel where they revealed Apeface mentioned that "his partner was coming too" or something like that.

I mean Snapdragon's a given since one can't imagine one or the other only being made. Wouldn't be at all shocked if this also means we'll see the rest of the original headmasters that weren't present at least in the way people want them to be in TR in WFC part 2 such as Squeezplay,Nightbeat,Siren,Minerva,Hosehead,Fangry,Terri-Bull,etc. Such as how in POTP we got both the G1 Predacons and Terrorcons that weren't present in CW.

All of that sounds likely based on past patterns.
