I'd say yes. Quakewave was an amazing figure for its time and I sill have mine, but he is dated and isn't up to par with FT's current figures and direction. I would love to see their take on a too accurate Shockwave.

In fact, since we're on this topic, I think it's time for a Sovereign v2 too.

I'm good with my V1 Quakewave. Not only looks good to me, he's the first (to my knowledge) MP 3rd party figure. He's a piece of history and still looks good. He's the 57 Chevy of the Transformers world. :D

    Completely unnecessary.

We have the toon, the comic and the clown options already available. Really don't need anymore. And Shockwave is arguably my favourite Decepticon.

I think MP-29 could be improved upon, but I don't need for it to be improved upon. I'm tired of buying replacements. But I don't care if they want to do something I won't bother with. I won't buy it, but doesn't mean it won't do well if they do. If I cared either way, though, I'd say no need. Do something else that 'needs' doing.

I got the last release of Quakewave that BBTS still had that was on sale. I like him more then the TT version. A feel he is a little more intimidating.

One day, eventually, sure. I have QuakeBlast, MP-29, and MP-29+. I'd like to see FT do a v2 Quakewave in a couple years. Just not before the other stuff they've announced or a v2 Tesla.

Some time ago, I asked Dalianjj if he had any plans to remake Quakewave but he said no.

I believe that FT won't visit this character again due to the controversy surrounding it (FT and GP/C9 and the claims of stealing etc.)

An updated Quakewave would be cool (instead of being pure toon like Laserwave, I would like to see more of a toon/toy fusion). I never cared for Quakeblast, despite owning him several times. He is more of an IDW Shockwave imo.

Looks really good. I'd love for a reissue on this version. I already have Quakewave but wouldn't mind having a Quakeblast for fun.

Nothing, as quakeblast is the only shockwave i'll ever need.

I love Quakewave, but even when he was released (I got the first version) there were two things that bugged me: 1) the blocky legs with none of that curvature that's iconic for Shockwave, and 2) the small width of his chest: Shockwave should have a wide chest, much wider than anything else on his body.

Quakeblast solved all this (and more), but Quakewave feels like better quality to me: the plastic and the joints. Plus I like the first run Quakewave colour better than any other, be it official MP, Quakeblast or later Quakewave releases.

However I'm not sure I would buy a modern version. It really would have to tick a lot of boxes and be a whole lot better. However, to me FT have moved away from what I like. Nowadays they use much more diecast (imo to the detriment of the figure, while with Quakewave it betters the figure) and the transformations have become anything but fun. So I seriously doubt I'd be in for it.

Well it's good enough for Takara. New version of Prime, Bumblebee and no doubt the Seekers at some point. I would rather Fanstoys release a new version than yet another repaint of an existing figure. This pisses me off more than anything else and both Fanstoys and Takara are both guilty of it.

I'm perfectly happy with Quakewave as my Shockwave. He reminds me a lot of the Marvel Comics version of the character, which I vastly prefer to the toon version. The toon version had that awesome David Warner-esque voice going for it, but otherwise Shockwave was an uninteresting lackey with not hint of personality or characterization. Marvel Comics Shockwave trashed Megatron on a regular basis. One of the things that killed any interest in the TT figure was that it was shorter than MP 10. I can't accept a Shockwave that's not of equal stature to Megatron. Also, I just don't like the curved shins. Makes him look a bit effeminate. Not sure how else to describe it. Not that there's anything wrong with that! :D  It just doesn't work for me.

All that said, I'd be interested in an updated version. FT looks poised to take on a few other figures that already have pretty well received versions, like Soundwave, so I don't think it impossible they may revisit this very early effort.

I would MUCH rather FT concentrate on their EXTENSIVE backlog. Especially completing the combiner sets they have already started. No distractions. No redesigns. No repaints... Just get to it.

Fair enough, FT will price their V2 at $200. Like you said, it's good enough for TT.

The v2 Quakewave is called Quakeblast. You left it off your poll.

I’m perfectly happy with mine. I’d rather spend money on characters that haven’t been made yet TBH.

    Quake-Blast 100%

Official MP is on sale at BBTS right now. I finally picked one of those up.

I sold my V1 Quake-Wave quite awhile ago. The blocky legs killed me. Quake-Blast does it much better.

Dark purple of the MP+ is hard to beat. Quakewave just has the wrong shape for his calves.

Another vote for Quakeblast. I just recently got him (after over 3 years in limbo), and he easily replaced MP-29. I felt bad getting rid of MP-29, as my fiancee got him for me as a Christmas present a few years ago... but even she thinks Quakeblast is on another level... and she doesn't care about transformers much at all... she can just see how much of a superior product it is.

Quakewave was never even a consideration, and although he's okay, he doesn't hold a candle to the other two... still, for when he was released, he must have been fantastic... that was before I started collecting again, though.

However, with the three options we already have on the table, I think FT know they wouldn't get great sales from an update. There's not much they could now do to the design to improve upon what others already have done... especially at a premium price. FansToysBoys would eat it up, yes... but the rest of us are mostly happy with what we've got.
