I unfortunately wasn't able to make it to my store's launch event so I don't have any of the W3 promos. Now I'm stuck between waiting for another event or just getting the promos on TCG player or the like.

If you happen to be in the South Florida region, there are 3 events happening each weekend that are handing out promos (2 of the events are even Energon Qualifiers).

Still haven't learned to play but bought a few packs again today. Got General Prime and the next two characters were Runabout and Runamuck which those being back to back made me chuckle.

Runabout and Runamuck with Road Hugger is a pretty good combo

Long shot I know, but shout out if you're in Taipei, Taiwan! If you are, let me know if you're interested in playing. There's a TCG shop I like close to NTU... if you're into MTG you probably know about it already. Fantasy Card Shop. My favorite in the city :)  I bought a bunch of Wave 1/2/3 boxes, so I can bring boosters for sealed play if you don't want to buy (I'll keep the cards if you don't buy them before opening).

I can also sell you some packs at the price I paid, $3 (90 NTD) per pack. Or anything I have at tcgplayer price... I'm expecting to have at least a couple of most cards. I'd suggest that for a lot of card games, buying a full set of non-rares is an affordable way to explore... you get most of the deckbuilding complexity and fun. It's similar cost to the starter sets, but *much* more interesting since you can build your own deck, and since starter sets usually have super-simplified play for beginners.

I'm not trying to make money here, in fact I'd bet that it's probably a losing proposition to open boxes to sell at tcgplayer prices (which suggests to me that there aren't many hoarders/speculators/scalpers, but rather that any stores opening boxes can only sell chase rares... which is a shame because of what I suggested above about deckbuilding!). Just trying to increase interest, especially out here. You can find a few ppl selling common/uncommon sets on ebay, so buy from them too!
