I’m happy with my POTP one. I wish they had done a SG Prime from this mold though.

As a self-identified Nemesis Prime whore, this talk of not needing another one because the POTP version was so good is baffling to me.

    More please!

He's an amalgation of various Nemesis Primes. He's a redeco of G1 Optimus Prime, he has the arm cannons and Vorpal Saber of Amarda Nemesis Prime and he has the Arms Micron partner of Prime Nemesis Prime.

Agree that POTP Nemesis Prime is overall great. Makes better use of the mold than OP. IMHO, the main negative is still alt mode, although looks better than POTP OP's alt mode due to better use of color scheme and the extra cannons. The cab itself does not look good (I understand they wanted to make small robot mode look good but took away from alt mode).

Why is it $60? I don't see anything here that warrants double the price.

This isn’t double the price. It is a slight premium on what these normally cost in Japan. Coming in at 6480 JPY when the normal Siege Prime is 5940 JPY.

Edit to fix a typo :p

Wow Japan probably imports the US releases then. That also means, Legends had extra paint and features at Domestically normal prices.

I meant that it would make sense for Japanese citizens to import cheaper identical siege figures.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. There are duties and taxes that need to be factored in. As a Canadian, it is often less expensive for me to buy TF figures in the US and import then in. Sometimes it's not.

There are also times where it is better for us to import in Japanese figures into the US. I can get MP-44 from Japan for 41000 JPY. That is about $380 USD plus shipping and duties/taxes.

That raises an interesting question. Does Takara Tomy make their own stock or does Hasbro make it on their behalf? Presumably using the same factories and molds since the figures are identical?

Yes. Doesn't matter if it's Takara release or Hasbro release, it all comes from the same factory.
And Takara is responsible for which factory is contracted.
