MP-47 PO price on Amazon Japan seems to have dropped by another (whopping!) 65 yen (and Bumblebee by 219 yen as noticed by @WildBill).

 

Dropped maybe. But only after it went up. It's currently listed at 13,994.
According to my pre-order history it was at one time as low as 12,795

 

Nope, the lowest price dropped from 12860 to 12795 sometime recently. I had already prepaid that with a gift card, so I now have a -65 yen credit.

You said that the price went to 12795 at some point in the past, then rose, then dropped again by 65 yen (and thus the drop by 65 doesn't affect most of us). I'm telling you that the price lowered to 12795 only recently, for a net decrease of 65 yen from the previous lowest price of 12860.

 

This ¥12,795 price you guys are talking about, that's without the 10% consumption tax, right?
I preordered mine on June 7 and my preorder price is at ¥13,819 (¥12,562 excl. tax)

I've had issues in the past where the price of a figure dropped after I'd placed my preorder but this wasn't reflected in my order price. Thankfully I had proof and was able to get the difference back from AMZ in the form of a refund.

In case y'alls price includes the consumption tax, would you mind sharing a screenshot so I can use that as proof in case I get overcharged upon release?

 

The thing I’m not looking forward to with this release is that Christmas shipping.

Would it not be worth it to change your preorder to Anime Export? Their shipping can't be over ¥‎3,994 which is AMJ shipping + import fees for you.

They don't declare full value. The only problem is if your country is one of those weird countries that checks online prices of each package's contents to contest low declared values.

 

AE’s preorder window is only 3 weeks long. I think it might’ve passed a while ago.

Looks like he's still available to preorder on NY though! They also under-declare value like AE. AE used to be my go to due to slightly less bad customer service feedback compared with NY, but their shipping rates have gone up quite a bit, so I first tried NY with MP-44 and that sailed into Norway just fine - I wondered if anyone might challenge the ridiculously low declared value for such a big heavy box, but no! I have 45 and 47 pre-ordered with them too and they will probably become my default as they have some really cheap but still pretty fast shipping options. They also do pay later if you like that.

 

Yep I definitely could've got it cheaper elsewhere. At the current exchange rate ¥16,789 works out to roughly £124. TFS-Express are offering it for £105.50 shipped using their reward scheme but I missed the deadline to cancel my AJ preorder so I'm stuck with it.
