We're on about Sideswipe 2.0, again, huh? I don't see that happening. My take on the + editions that were made with Cartoon aesthetics in mind are that Takara considers them "good enough" and won't be touching back on them for a few more years in the least.

 

That’s exactly what I think too. And also I don’t really get why so many people want it! Does it matter so much that his chest is slightly wider than on the cartoon?

 

I keep hoping since we already have three MP Primals now and Cheetor with a Shadow Panther repaint that we might see a MP Tigatron and MP BW Grimlock eventually.

Don't get me wrong, I like Sideswipe as is. But he can definitely be improved on; especially with how they've been doing things in terms of articulation and design lately.

Tigertron will happen, I have no doubt. I think all the S1 designs will see MP form. Grimlock I could see happening with a slight retool of the head, as well.

 

It's less Sideswipe for me, honestly, and more Red Alert and anything they choose to redeco it into. The +Alert is colored more accurately, but without major retooling for door arms (which all the toy-based redecos could use too), it'll never be fully accurate in cartoon or toy form. Redoing the Countachs offers that option up (and yes, if they can manage a way to shrink the chest down a bit while not running afoul of what Lamborghini wants, cool), plus upgrading posability and whatnot, as OP1983 points out.

As for odds, if the Countach remains a good seller for Takara, I don't see why they wouldn't go back to it at some point. We've gotten nine total Countachs since 2012 (not counting Asian market re-releases), and we're a Deep Cover, Red Sunstreaker/Spinout, and maybe a toy Sunstreaker away from being done with Countachs entirely (barring Takara pulling off the Stunticons anytime soon). There's only so much left to do with MP-39 and especially 12/14. If Lamborghini's still willing to play ball, why not go back to that well again?

I would think we'd see Dinobot retooled heavily into Thrustor but Takara have been so oddly unpredictable ever since the mid 30s of the MP line that I just can't guess what they'll do at this point (still waiting on that Black Rodimus I was certain of).

 

Is it because Black repaints don't sell well? Did any other black repaint get reissued other than 10B? We still haven't gotten Deepcover and Diaclone Ironhide.

I mean black repaints have remeained a staple for Takara so I would think they're profitable enough for them to keep doing them. MP10B is the only one with a reissue as far as MPs go BUT it's also the only one that was a retail release at least from MP10 onwards. TECHNICALLY MP6 exists and was also reissued back in the day (MP3 and MP7 did not sadly). I'm not quite sure why Ironhide and Deepcover have been avoided and I don't think them being black is the issue because we did get Loud Pedal. It's probably not an issue with Diaclone decos either since we got Cordon. I think if they hadn't started going hard for the toon aesthetic we'd have at least gotten Deepcover over +Alert but who knows.

 

Random thought: Whenever TT does reveal the inevitable Starscream 2.0, I hope that it has an interchangeable battle-damaged crushed foot.  

 

Yeah, I've been trying to think what he'd come with, aside from the crown/cape and a new Archeville. Maybe some purple null-ray blast effects? Can't remember if he had any one-off signature or random items in the animated series. The battle damage would be pretty cool. I'd appreciate it if there was some kind of "smoke" effect with it too.

Also, he’d of course come with Dr. Archeville, his crown and coronation gear, definitely the null ray blast effects you mentioned, and I feel like there’s got to be something else.

 

He's got to come with a gun-mode Megatron he can wield, especially after MP-44 didn't.

 

Have we had any rumors pop up regarding Mpm Ratchet or anyone else? Jazz is a huge step forward and I really need a ratchet and OG camaro bee before I'm complete
