Resin printers have fallen down in price a lot, even below a lot of regular 3d printers. Aside from additional safety precautions / hazards, resin prints, however, are not suitable for action figures as they are quite fragile. I've tried various resin printed stuff before for TF stuff and they all broke right away. It's better to use them to prototype real resin casts or as display pieces only.

 

I found a cool alternate base mode for Omega Supreme. Jetfire fits perfectly. Ready for launch!

 

I like those Jetfire weapons with Optimus. I will have to try something like that.

I like that base mode. Neither Omega nor Jetfire will stand a chance against Kittycron there though.

Haha I was thinking of the same, but will do it with the TTMall nemesis prime! It'll be like POTP nemesis prime but with much sleeker arm cannons and matching colorscheme.

The kind with the 'Aww yiiiiis...' kind of look? I approve of this cat.​

 

Various Omega Supreme stuff:

1) Investigating forward hip movement. Backwards hip movement is full 90 degrees. Forward is around 70-75 degrees. Opened up his sexy crotch area and took a look:
Note: Need #0 phillips screwdriver with a long neck. If tip of your screwdriver is too pointy, then you need to sand it down to avoid stripping the screw head. Unlike Omega's head, there's no glue here.



The ratchets are huge and there's nothing "backwards". Right next to the ratchet are huge tabs. I put them in different positions to show the differences when moving the hip joint. When moving the hip joint to either extreme, these tabs will hit a screw shaft to stop. On this view, left side side is hip rotated 90 degrees backward and right side is neutral.

The opposite crotch view:


Right side is on neutral. Left side is trying to rotate forward 90 degrees but the huge tab hits the screw shaft area.

I'm NOT going to mod this, but if for some reason, you really need forward 90 degree hip motion, you can shave the huge tabs down. I'm assuming there must have been some sort of stability issue and was done on purpose.

2) Lightpiping effects. The window is on top like Shockwave, so if you have an overhead light, you can make his eyes pop. Unfortunately, because the plastic is yellow, you can't shine a blue light through to get the cartoon blue eye effect. Bright blue LED...will just turn the eyes yellow. However, red or orange LED can tint the eyes orange. I tried to show orange eyes here, but the light was so bright that the camera captured it looking more white than in real life:



I wanted to mod the head to look like G1 cartoon but it's glued very tight.

3) Base mode shenanigans:
Now Optimus Prime is Super Duper Leader Class (slap on extra armor and now he's a true Leader).

 

Once again, Reflector tries (try?) his (their?) luck (lucks?) at taking on the Ninja Megazord.

 

Commander Cody is just chillin with the Transformers. Wanting me to open the blinds so he can hop up into the window.
