Jesus, $10 for shipping? I might as well just buy it from a scalper on ebay.

EDIT: Thankfully I was able to get shipping dropped to $6. Looks like I'm going to my store to get a refund on my preorder.

looks like the fans were right the handle of the saber is a bit too short for a proper two-handed grip

but otherwise the figure looks great

didn't find it at either of the two gamestop stores I visited...hopefully I can find it before Pulse ships so I can check out the paint job...

The Figuarts still have some advantages. The weapons are still nicer. The articulation engineering is smoother, which is always an issue with Hasbro figures, since they often use a more rubbery plastic for joints. The paint is more consistent. But Hasbro has really nailed these realistic suit sculpts, and the villains may be the strongest figures in the line.

Saw the Lightning Collection Beast Morpherd Gold Ranger and the basic gold beast 6" ranger. The sword on the latter has better paint and sharper sculpt. Wut?!
PLEX from Bandai is good for straightforward transformations.

I think Takara thinks more outside of the box when it comes to transformation combined with full articulation. If they're not able to help Hasbro on future zords, hopefully Hasbro has picked up enough from them through the years to enhance their own efforts. As far as fully articulated transforming robot toys that can combine into a fully articulated robot at American mass market, they're hard to beat.

The details on the weapons are definitely the only thing I think Figuarts did better in. I find the articulation on my Lightning White Ranger to be far better than the one on the Figuarts version. Plus, he stands up in poses better than the Figuarts due to him being a thicker figure. I also love the wrinkles in the suit.

The wrinkles on the suit and the butterfly joints on the shoulders won me over bigtime ti where I'm rebuying a ton of figures I had already from legacy

what ultimately won me over was that they are doing villains, the psychos and drakkon and the ranger slayer

Sweet, found Lightning Psycho Red and LG Red at a GameStop today. They had 2 in stock there. Could be a low risk of happening, but the belt buckle for one of the Psycho Reds was kind of bent and tucked under the waist from how it was packaged, so didn't take that one. But really looking forward to opening these up soon.

Edit: Aw man.. Belt on the LG Red from the pack is messed up instead. It's off centered and I can't get it to move back into place. Caused some paint to get rubbed off of the ab crunch too.

    Look who I found today:

    My early impressions:

Bullblack - He's pretty awesome. In fact, he is outstanding as his sculpt is nearly 100% accurate to the actual suit that was used in the show. Never did I expect that from a US company. Unfortunately, he is not without issues though as the upper torso is quite loose while his shoulder joints are way too tight. I also can't get his head off (and he didn't come with an unhelmeted head either). I love the way they did the sword as it can actually be removed from its sheeve and the gun is pretty cool. The blast effect rocks, though mine is warped due to how soft the plastic is and how it was packed. This is my first time ever owning a hero from Gingaman/Lost Galaxy and I am quite impressed. I hope the rest of the team ends up being this solid and that we get some villains to go with them.

Pink Ranger - This figure is a mess. There are so many different shades of pink used that I feel like she is an amalgamation of sevearl pink ranger figure pieces put together. Also, she can't hold her arrows for shit. It's terrible. It also doesn't help that the wrist hinge on her arrow holding hand does not move no matter how much I try to heat it up and try to rotate it. It's like it was never actually cut from the plastic or something. The paintwork on her helmet is quite sloppy too. I was really looking forward to her because she appeared to be superior to the Figuarts, but sadly, that is not the case. At least this version isn't. I'm going to keep an eye out for one I can exchange her with and hope for the best. Oh, I also don't get why she only comes with a gun when Hasbro has also made the stick mode. Thus, she should come with both. Lastly, I almost forgot to mention but that Kim head is horrifying. She looks like she is going to swallow my soul.

Here’s the only way I’ve gotten my pink to hold the arrow with any sort of stability

Jesus, so the body on your pink is more purple-like just like mine.

Oh, I also saw the Green/Putty 2 pack today. Sadly, I still can't justify spending $40 on it as I really only want the Putty.

Another thing I don't get is why is her hand so open? It makes it hard for her to hold the bow. Why didn't they just do a normal gripping hand?

I can’t wait for the lightning collection to start doing the turbo rangers, it’s kinda hard to believe the legacy collection never touched those.
