The single most important part of having tablet capabilities again is being able to draw my characters harassing other people's characters at a moment's notice.
My delight for Brave New World Galvatron cannot be stopped.

Also an attempt was made to draw my batty Starscream in a more TFA style, and I'd say I got closer than I ever have before. Fortunately I already try to take a lot of design cues from TFA but like...there is a process to TFA characters and it starts with "A chin you could get injured on" and ends with "only angles allowed"
It was a ton of fun to do, though.

love your art, especially the earlier stuff. that arcee/rodimus split is so cute and hilarious. I honestly thought from the 1st page group shot that springer was actually IDW swift

I....live......it's been a helluva year, guys. Things are still fucking wild BUT my tablet got repaired and I'm not immediately on fire! Which is great!

Naturally, this means it's time to draw another Starscream redesign, as is the way of my people. Based off a little seeker-ish doodle I did a while back, turned out quite fun to doodle. Big impish energy.

You can definitely tell this one's a troublemaker, though. Not sure exactly what it is, but there's some powerfully mischevious vibes to this design.

But more importantly, it wound up being part of me looking back at a number of Starscream designs I've done, arranged in chronological order, which reveals to me that at some point I guess I just went "Screw it, digitgrade legs and pterodactyl arms ONLY."
    Man, I guess I have a type.

    1. Congrats
    2. Is it wrong to think that this version of Screamer is a Fem-Con?

Awesome! I like the limbs, though I can't seem to put a finger on why exactly. Something about the movement/flow at each joint maybe? Regardless, excellent work! It's always a please to see more of your work.

If it helps, I thought the same at first glance

Me too. I think that this particular rendition could make a good Slipstream. Also, I'm totally on board with Starscream having digitigrade legs and pterodactyl arms.

I love it!!! Do you have Green Apple Acidstorm as a flavor??
I, too, thought it was female. Doesn't help that there's no gender-identifiers like He/him/she/her/sklim/sklur.

It's all good! Starscream (and most Cybertronians in most of my settings) really just kinda...roll with whatever identifiers humans give them. In theory, Starscream's gender is more or less just... "Jet". After that, humans can just pick, it doesn't really matter. The gross little organics already reduced his name down to "Star-Scream" and that's bad enough! Where's all the modifiers? The tonal intonations that indicate his military status? Human languages are silly, and Cybertronians find them very reduced.

This poor XO who's been told to go make small talk with the giant robots is NOT getting paid enough to try to explain gender studies to an alien who thinks it's hilarious.
(belatedly realized I did "intertellar" instead of "interstellar" AFTER I closed the editable version of the image, oops.)

Starscream: Okay, but which pronoun is the BEST one for this situation? I want to know what will be advantageous.

This poor guy: I...I'm gonna go get one of the xenobiologists? I really am not qualified to even start approaching this.

Starscream: Is it "sir?" how about "majesty?"

Also I've just been doing quick recolors for the most part bc they're fun and easy, and thus: A flavor chart of seekers.

it was inevitable I'd do a recolor to match my own Batscream.
Less inevitable but just as fun was doodling up Batscream with the wonky proportions. A surprisingly good look for him!

You know how I can't go more than a few months without making some random short-lived AU just so I can crank out designs and then I get distracted from it and never do anything with it? WELL guess who's back on her bullshit? It's me.

A while back I was struck by a mood of "robots are hard to draw and I prefer specbio creature design" so, naturally, I designed a bunch of animals based off of Transformers characters- which I'll be posting bit by bit. But among them were these two, uh, "Gorillions" (sort of a feline-ape critter) who were Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively. Closely related species, but Optimus as the forest/grasslands type, Megatron as a larger mountain-dwelling arctic type.

Well, you know how it goes. Step one, design an animal based off a giant space robot. Step two, reverse-engineer a space robot out of the animal.
(This Optimus was lovingly nicknamed Park Ranger Optimus and I really can't disagree)

Of course, then, to match, I had to start designing a Megatron!

....and I guess I just got on a roll because I just kept designing more and more and, long story short
    [IMG]
Meet the Megatriplets. Galvatron, Megatron, and Megastorm. BWII really scratched a character interaction itch with "siblings jostling for control of their faction" so I've bumped it up by 50% because I am the devil.
And I am here to torment Optimus Prime with these three additional devils.

But at least they don't usually work together, after all-
    [IMG]
-by the time Megazarak gets back from waging war, he'd better have ONE heir who's proven themselves worthy. (I like to call it the "If you three don't stop fighting I'm going to lock you all in a room and I won't open the door until the screaming stops" method of parenting. Except in this case it's a whole-ass planet he's trapped them on.)

Interesting creature modes for Optimus and your Mega-Triplets. Sort of gives off both a mythical creature, and next level fuzor vibe.

Still playing favorites with Batscream. While normally putting a ridiculous amount of effort into appearing slick and slimy and unflappable, once the switch is flipped Starscream just doesn't care anymore. He goes out of his way to avoid combat as a result...the fight that's won without having to lift a finger is always more satisfying, anyways.

Even if a show of brutal force gets you some respect.

There is something VERY unsettling about seeing Batscream get serious, it must be said.

I do love the "unhinged" expression there at the bottom though, that one turned out especially well!

More monster furries! This time in K9 Unit edition!

I made Barricade first, fueled by the wonderful suggestions of @Ømnidrive, as a sort of Wolf-Armadillo hybrid that wound up with some additional gorgonopsid and crocodile features, and frankly I kinda love it. What a good critter!
And also, what a bad cop! Barricade's altmode is melanistic and blue-tinted, from his own coloration, but a more typical member of the species would look something like
    [IMG]

Of course, I couldn't stop there, and I was running kind of short on Autobots at that point (given that I'd designed one autobot's rootmode and...four decepticons) so it was time...for Prowl.
Barricade's former leading officer. Wound up basing her in part off the old TF: Hero/TFA pitch designs, with kunoichi Prowl, because I've been thinking about that design for a while and it was stuck in my head. I do love how she turned out tho. She's a hair taller than Barricade in root and altmode, but he's quite a bit stockier.

DOG FIGHT! DOG FIGHT! DOG FIGHT!

Also did...one more character who didn't fall into Autobot or Decepticon, rather...he gets to be a nuisance to EVERYONE equally.
This local bug is running an unlicensed clinic, and someone should arrest him. But then, who doesn't love Trepan?

Found another older Starscream AND did a new one recently....so...BIRD EVOLUTION: EXPANDED
    [IMG]

Said latter Starscream is the result of me giving in and making a specbio beastformers Starscream for the weird monsters, because I'm a sucker for cute bat-beasts.

And I needed another smaller character to even out with Moonracer, who wound up a tiny adorable goat-thing.

I really don't need another AU but heck, I'll ride this out as long as I can.

Besides, who doesn't love having another Starscream around?
