I moved into my new (private) office space yesterday. Definitely a nice upgrade with more room to grow (if I ever want to run some side server/network projects with a spare rack; I work in IT). Also more shelf space to display some of my geeky kitsch (Transformers and Star Wars mostly with some LEGO thrown in). :D

Things have been slowly improving since the last time I dropped in here.

I'm getting back to where I can put my feet up and relax.

Since I'm not feeling the urge to get any figures at all this month this will be an easy month to get through.

My 35th Birthday is this month and I've been focused on my health, dropped a fair amount of weight and that is going to help with my blood pressure and I haven't been taking the Blood Pressure medication since I was having Side Effects from it that weren't that great to deal with so my focus lately has been health and finances.

I have to get through the next 3 and a half weeks without spending over $200 on the hobby so I'm glad my efforts to budget things has worked out since I don't feel like spending more than $100 on this stuff in a month's time now so that means I can save up money and I'll be on my way to reaching Phase 1 of my main goal for this year so hopefully I get through this month without nostalgia hitting me hard making me want to get more vintage stuff but since I don't have space for more figures that's helped a lot to cut down on additions.

Haven't been that interested in new Transformers or any other new figures lately and after getting rid of almost all my preorders the rest of the year should be easy to get through.

Right now the goal is to stay chilled out and relaxed and I've been getting better mentally so I'm happy about that things been improving slowly but only because I have stuck to my plans that were put in motion a few months ago so as the month progresses things will be easier to handle.

This morning at work, I watched a butterfly sun itself and go to the bathroom, as a tiny droplet fell from the end of its abdomen. It then flew off, its business done for the time being.

Got a new router today since the old one started to crap out on certain devices. It's just a little faster, but not by much. :)

I lost 12lbs according to the Doctor and he Reduced my Blood Pressure Medication.

I also turn 35 Tomorrow and am going out to the Hobby Shop on Monday to look for some older figures and should be getting more of the latest additions to the collection in next week.

The biggest thing I'm happy about now is that once October 3rd Gets here I will be back on track to start to get ahead of things and can spend the remainder of the year focused 100% on Saving Money since I picked up a few things I wanted plus a few impulse purchases and after having a little extra left over from last month's collecting budget to add to this month's it will be easier to get through the end of this month.

And I'm almost out of space for figures so I'm happy that this means that I can pretty much retire from collecting earlier than expected.

And found the Takara Car Robots JRX Rail Racer set for $20 this weekend so I'm happy to have that Combiner Set marked off my To Get List.

So, this is probably going to sound petty (honestly it is, but sorry not sorry) but it made my damned day anyway. I ran into a former Wal-Mart manager while I was out shopping... the one who's basically responsible for me no longer working there (no fault of my own mind you... it was basically a "we know you have medical issues and take lots of FMLA leave so you can either quit or we'll find a reason to fire you" kind of thing). Anyway, since he approached me at Target (yeah he was shopping at Target) and asked how I was doing I tried to be semi-cordial to the guy. Not my boss anymore but no sense being an asshole for no reason and what's done is done. Somehow the conversation got around to how the store was doing and that's when he told me he didn't know because he'd been fired four months back for sexual harassment. He told me that the charges weren't true and that the female associate made them up but Wal-Mart fired him anyways (rumor was he was handsy with the female associates so I'm not surprised someone finally reported him) and I couldn't help myself... I started laughing, looked him right in the eyes and told him karma was a bitch and that there was no one more deserving in the entire store (I'm not the only person he ever got fired for no reason or forced to quit). He stared at me like a deer in the headlights and I just walked away laughing my ass off. I know it's petty as hell but it simply couldn't have happened to a more deserving piece of human garbage. Karma truly is a bitch.

Lost my job on the 2nd, 2 weeks later, I have an interview for a Systems Admin job. I would hope it would be more money than I was making before.

I watched "Bumblebee" with my mom today. She fell asleep through some of it, but she enjoyed the parts that she saw. "Transformers" movies aren't really her cup of tea; I don't know why she wanted to watch it with me, and I don't care...I'm just glad we watched it together.

Mom's getting up there in years and she's in the early stages of dementia; I spend as much time with her as I can, and this was just kinda special. My favorite part of the whole experience was when the movie was over...she started singing the G1 "Transformers" theme. She didn't know the words past "more than meets the eye," but that was more than enough for me. :)

    I gotta say...today was a good day.

My mom has similar issues, I empathize with you. Unfortunately mine doesn’t really have the attention span to watch movies or shows like that with me anymore, so your experience today is only a pipe dream for me sadly.
Glad you enjoyed the day with her. Heartwarming to see someone else enjoy things like this

Found out I got a model build meet on the 30th of this month (which is the same day as my Xmas dinner party at work, which I'm not going as always every year)

I just landed a 6 figure job in IT. Good thing too because BBTS just charged my Paypal account for their incoming GX-88 Voltron.

Finished cancelling preorders and Collecting is now set on Automatic.

If everything goes well folks I can unplug from collecting and start getting my mind focused on other things because I have become fixated on some things to the point it's time to unplug from things and allow the mind to rest and relax.

If things go well next month I will be ahead of things in January and all I have to do is do nothing.

After one of the sites I've used for a Decade has turned into a place where it's not fun and it no longer influences me to collect the main thing that drained my monthly collecting budget collecting Action Figures will become very easy again and after a respite from this hobby things are at a point where all mental effort can be directed to saving money.

Finding my days now spent watching Star Trek and chilling out, less time spent looking at websites the better and more time spent chilling out is the best way to handle the days so should be fine by the end of the year if I can get myself motivated to build model kits and end looking for new additions to the collection so moving ahead at a good pace and the sooner I get my mind off looking for new figures the better.

So the great thing about all of this that shutting down my collecting has the positive impact of restoring some sense of sanity to a mind that has become quite obsessive with certain things so moving along towards things being more relaxed.

Finally calling out the bullshizzle of a "coworker" in front of all the others while in a friendly yet bosslike manner so I couldn't get in trouble. Man, that was great. Even my actually work buddies laughed about it later.

I like to have fans on me while at home. The other day or so my tv room floor fan stopped working after a power outage. I figured I would look at it today, and if if nothing obvious, toss it. Well took front off turned the blades to see if anything. Nope. Oh well. Put it together. I guess I didn't turn it off because about five minutes later it turned back on. Nice cold breeze now.
