Nah don’t worry about it. The paint is pretty durable. The only things you have to watch out for is the yellow parts on the pelvis and the gray on the waist. The glossy red, blue and white for the most part won’t chip unless you’re using excessive force, which if you do the transformation carefully won’t be an issue.

Nice! Surprised we haven’t seen more pics of MP-44 holding one of the Megatron guns.

I accidentally scratched the yellow paint on the waist yesterday, and I really don't want to look through this whole thread. So anyone have recommendations on what specific kind of paint I should use to touch it up?

    Thanks. Just finished transforming him.

I managed to save the yellow and grey. There's a tiny chip on one of his orange lights but nothing noticable. He's beautiful in bot mode. That head sculpt is gorgeous.

I'm surprised to see the backpack doesnt seem nearly as glaring in person as it did in pics.

    I wouldn't have thought so.

If the IT KO guys make an MP44, they'll improve upon the paint. That's the best hope of dealing with the paint chip issue.

I actually shared the same opinion until I got him. I still prefer the S2 head, but the S1 actually looks much cooler IRL. I think I'll be using both alternately.

No, I don't hate the backpack, I was making a joke. I was just pointing out how many people hate the backpack on MP-44, but not MP-39. Sunstreaker is a really good figure, and people don't seem to mind the bsckpack. MP-44's backpack is not horrible, but it is still not ideal. The thing I dislike, severally, is the implementation of the voice box, because frankly, this is the Masterpiece line, gimmicks are second to making a great figure. MP-44 should have come with the voice box integrated into a designated stand. But in the end, MP-44 BE BEST MASTERPIECE FIGURE, until some time later, like a Starscream V3, or a Blaster, or something.

Havent been keeping up with the thread ...

Are the loose swinging legs (both fwd and sideways) a common thing?

Nothing that is deal breaking, but certainly noticable when you hold the figure off the ground and shake a bit.

It's a bit loose on mine, but honestly it doesn't affect posing at all, so it's not a big deal.

    Right.
Its definitely a non issue when it comes to posing....but I was just wondering if it was unique to my copy or not.

Update; MP-44's left knee is weird now. It's not a complete friction joint like other people, but it's like a friction joint for a bit before the first joint activates, and then the second joint. I don't think any teeth are broken on the ratchet, any tips?

Sorry for the long wait. Kinda sat here to figure it out. Turns out you have to mod it a bit. Just shave down the pieces circled green by 2 mm and you’ll be good to go. Doing this prevents paint scratching on alt mode headlights during transformation. One on the left has been shaved.

    Both are shaved here:
