I love Hailee.

 

F yeah! Just saw it again on bluray, loud and on my projector and I loved it. The tf action is so wicked. All those triple changer transformations and cybertron scenes... pure TF euphoria.

 

Yay, I'm glad to see The Razzies is not part of the headline.

 

Heck yeah. Glad this film still makes some noise now and again. Hope this new line of films continues on.

 

Why is Hailee only considered a "supporting" actress? If she's not the lead who is?

 

I asked myself the same thing and then I realized...



They actually count Bumblebee as the main character.

I’m both amazed and confused.

 

Holy shit you’re right! Dang, I guess this is how it works now?

 

Supporting actress? WTF. This is like when Tom Felton was in the running for Best Villain at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards for his two seconds in Deathly Hallows p.1 lol.

 

I swear to god, if “the story no one wanted,” “a flimsy plot held together with cameos and a semi-cool finale” or “if they ditched the second half and made the whole movie about Dino preservation, they might have made a good film” beat Bumblebee, I will be so disappointed.

 

I'm all for TFs being the center of focus but the movie obviously placed Charlie as the protagonist. Pretty dumb. It's like the kid from ET being nominated for supporting role - but in movies like this, the protagonist is obviously the human, and then the crazy stuff enters their world and goes from there.

 

I mean, about time the TFs got recognized as the main characters of their own films.

 

Hehehe! "Supporting actress"! Not to knock against Hailee Steinfeld. She was great in the movie. But I just love the fact that for this award ceremony she got bumped down to a supporting role because this is the Bumblebee movie and Bumblebee should obviously be the main character.

 

This will probably be unpopular, but I’m sort of hoping Solo wins. As someone who had zero interest or hype in the film, I rather enjoyed it. I think it deserves some love now and again.

 

Exactly. And it’s good that people realise that. Yeah we can make a story about a human cause they exist in the real world, but let’s just relax and realise that an alien robot has his own life story and we can understand it.

 

Bumblebee feels like he should be the protagonist, but the story obviously was driven more by Hailey. She is the one who has an actual "character arc". Bumblebee SHOULD be the protagonist, but the movie did not make him so.

Again, take Iron Giant as an example. The kid is obviously the protagonist, as in, the one the audience is primarily supposed to sympathize with and associate with. The robot is almost just reacting to stuff happening to it. The kid in the end is the centre as he brings the robot off it's kill mode and saves the day, just like Charlie in BB taking all the major risks at the end.

Anyway, who cares. Haha. Go BB movie, make more, and more TF centered movies.

 

Bumblebee isn't real

He's not 'an actor'

 

You and me both! I started this year planning to do a focus collection involving that movie. But even if that did not work out it is still my top Star Wars film.  

 

In other news I am not surprised that ‘Ready Player One’ won.

My top favorite was ‘Alita’ but felt that R.R.’s changes might be a turn-off to purists. So cut things short, I need to check out this film.  

 

Amber Heard is being considered? The literal domestic abuser? The inhuman scum who abused Johnny Depp, then said HE abused HER, resulting in him being “cancelled” and her being given the spotlight as a victim?
