I'd love some advice about these third-parties. I'm trying to get a bunch of major G1 characters, typically in commanding roles, but I want them all to be about the same size: Leader Class. Factors I consider most important are accuracy to G1 appearance, impressive engineering, matches my set (see below), and reasonable price range. I know that the commanders during the Headmaster War are huge, so I looked into third-parties that'd scale them down to Leader-size. Master Made Odin and Destruction Scorpion are very expensive to me. Is it called Master Made because their designed to be placed next to Masterpiece figures, or are they just called that because of the similar price range? I'm not familiar with the brand. The heads are disproportionate; I don't see how they could've scaled down the head because they're complex Headmaster mechanisms. I know there are alternate parts you can buy to make them look proportionate, but they're pretty expensive as is, and I really wanna display the actual robot modes they transform into, not buy a package to make them look right post-transformation. Given these cons, you might think the answer is no but consider the pros. Their engineering is superior to everything already in my collection. A lot of people find Master Made's heavy detailing on their toys to be hideous, but I actually think it makes it look even more '80s than real '80s toys. It's also the only option I could find to have a Leader-sized Fortress Maximus and Scorponok. Could someone suggest better options? If not, should I go forward with this, or just forget the Headmaster commanders altogether from my collection?

To get a sense of the Transformers I'm gonna display them with (italicized I haven't bought yet):

    Autobot/Maximal
Power of the Primes Optimus Prime
    Kubianbao Beetle Wasp Bumblebee
    Masterpiece Ironhide
    Legends Ultra Magnus
Power of the Primes Rodimus Prime
    Master Made Odin Fortress Maximus
Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus

    Decepticon/Predacon
    Combiner Wars Megatron
    Combiner Wars Starscream
    Masterpiece Soundwave
    Masterpiece Shockwave
Open and Play Big Cannon Galvatron
    Master Made Destruction Scorpion Scorponok
    Perfect Effect Mega Doragon Megatron

Mastermade has big head because they are meant to be "chibi". They do offer more proportionate heads sold separately. They are no where near MP scale. Closer to legends scale (voyager size). Mastermade is just the name of the company. Nothing more. Having said that, Mastermade are some of the most well made 3P figures out there. Its a niche line for sure (because of chibi aspect). If you want a leader size Fort Max then go with Toyworld Infinitor (also has red repaint Grand Max called Grant).

Sounds great. Is there a Scorponok to go with Infinitor?

Cons: Infinitor doesn't have a double Headmaster mechanism, and it's largely out of stock so it'll cost about the same as Odin.
But it's asymmetric to get Master Made for one Headmaster commander and not the other, if you know what I mean. I've looked into Botcon 2014 Scorponok, but it's a bit too short, don't you agree?
I've seen some good prices for Botcon 2014.
But at the 7:56 mark of this size comparison, it's way shorter than Infinitor.

Oof, can't have it that short. Botcon Scorp can be a bit shorter since his shoulders stand way above his head, but Warden's not only too short, but looks too far from the aesthetic. Thanks for all your help so far though. Really have a lot of new angles to consider.

No leader size Scorp as far as I know. Mastermade is probably your best bet to fit what you are looking for. There is commander class Energon Scorp but he's a bit bigger than leader and probably not the aesthetics you are looking for.

Botcon Scorp is the same mold as Energon Scorp which is commander class so bigger than leader. If cost is an issue then Botcon Scorp would be too expensive...moreso than Infinitor. More expensive than Mastermade even.

Hmmm...now that I recall, he is shorter than the average commander class. If you are going to go with Infinitor, then Botcon Scorp is the better option than Mastermade in terms of less stylized aesthetics and maybe even height (if I'm not mistaken Mastermade Scorp is even shorter than Botcon Scorp).

Edit: I just remembered Perfect Effect Warden. He's shorter than Toyworld and probably same height as Botcon. But he's IDW and not G1

there is one guy here, and also in eBay that sells 3D files for Scorponok, and Fort Max. i think his name is Partformers or something. since you are dealing with a 3D file, I will assume that you will have the option to have the finished product to sized to your liking. of course the downside is you will have to find a 3D printing service bureau to get your final product. might be more expensive than the options already laid out above, but at least you get the size that you need. Bobby Skullface has reviewed the Scorponok in his channel, you may want to check that out.

If anyone (including the OP) wants a Destruction Scorpion or Diabolus Rex hit me up, I've decided to sell mine. Mastermade figures are top notch.
