It looks like Zeta took down all mentions of Unicron from their Facebook page.

I don't see anything for their figure at all, not just no mentions of the name Unicron. Or is that what you meant?

I'd swear they had new pictures of it just last night.

Okay, so you're seeing the same thing I'm seeing. I don't have a Facebook account, so I'm never sure how much Facebook is hiding from me.

That's... unfortunate. I hope it's because someone at Zeta made the decision to downplay until after the crowdfunding is done, and not due to outside pressure.

Guys I have been away for a week.

It is still cool to shit post on this thing? It was a lot of fun when time was running out and everyone was reassuring themselves and signing kumbaya, but now that it has been extended all the fun feels like it has been sucked out.

I just wanna check to see if people are still panicking that this wont get made.

Shhhh... stay quiet and don't move. Optimism attracts trolls in these parts. Next thing you know, you'll start getting attacked with... "That's patently false! Source? That's the stupidest(sic) thing I've seen on this forum! Are you a child? Haven't you read the last 700 pages, it's already been covered?"

Optimism is wavering for me. I backed Unicron within the first half hour... and it's been an ugly ride. I still check Zeta's and this haslab thread for shits and giggles, because I'm a masochist. Someone already contacted Hasbro on this thread and got a reply saying they aren't promoting shit til closer to nycc. That does not sit well with me, personally, especially bc that counter has plateaued and I check it way to often (imma masochist right). They should be promoting this thing daily on social media, building up a freight train of hype, hope, and... gasp... optimism.

All we got is a vicious, albeit, interesting 700 page thread, a very good bobby skullface podcast about a fractured community, a lively core zeta thread w biting memes galore, and time to ponder over $600. Nothing from Haslab.

This is my way of venting over the marketing. Sorry.

The marketing is legitimately terrible. I can't remember the last time I saw a marketing campaign this bad. It's a toss-up as to whether no marketing at all would have been better.

All this talk about how "Hasbro sacrificed Cookie Monster for Unicron to succeed"...
I am sorry, truly. I know this is salt in the wounds. But I had this mental image in my head all day and I just had to make it. I blame it on the evil emanations of the Chaos Bringer influencing me! ;)

Time has made me not panic bc I've been looking at what $600 can get me if I don't bank it. If I'm not spending a dime on Hasbro out of spite bc I'm that type of bitter collector, $600 sorta equals....

    2 Core Star + 1 TE OP v.3... damn. That's enticing.
    Zeta's superior + zeta's bruticus
    Etc etc.

None of that really matters though. I want chugitron. I saw him at sdcc and he was the best toy at the entire show for me. Sideshow whatever, 3A pshaw, it was Unicron for me... sigh.

Sorry. This is my way of venting over the shit marketing of Unicron. And I backed unicron in the first half hr it was available, fwiw. Am I panicking? No. Am I optimistic? No.

Point taken. It's hard to tell when the Barge didn't fail so we have nothing to base it on (and Cookie Monster fans aren't as rabid as we are). Since we only have the Barge to base it on, I guess it's more accurate to say that since the Barge succeeded, the Vintage collection has seen a resurgence. Basically more stuff because it was a proven seller. The Vintage wave may have stayed dead if it failed (though, guesswork again). If Unicron succeeds, I have to wonder what Hasbro plans to do with that momentum. There's got to be plans for something if Unicron succeeds. I'm not sure what but it'd be more than we get now (and we're getting a lot of cool stuff already!). This is really just hopeful predictions so don't take it as fact.

Also, yeah I just checked and Zeta Core Star is gone from Zeta's Facebook page. I wonder if it was their choice or someone else's.

What marketing should they be doing that would reach the hard core transformers collectors that would drop $600 for a figure and who likely haven’t heard of this project already?

Who is the likely consumer that is willing to pay $600 but hasn’t heard of it and what is different about them, where they consume their new toy information that is different from the 5500 collectors who have heard of it and bought in.

Just throwing around the term marketing isn’t an tangible claim of deficiency. You have to also define what that marketing is that they are missing and who they would capture with the missing marketing initiatives you suggest they need.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if dozens of trolls suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

3rd Parties usually focused on a Niche markets while Hasbro focused on mass retail.

Hasbro Pulse is Hasbro's Niche market operation, so we have a 3rd Party and a Official Niche Market Product. Zeta is not going to be produced, or at the very least Hasbro will make it very difficult.

The Official Product, is the only Product that should be discussed on here, any talk about 3rd parties do in fact negatively impact the crowd funding. Zeta will not be produced either, unless Hasbro's is fully funded.

Been watching more videos on this guy last night and honestly what's selling me on it is the planet mode. The accuracy and most of all the size. It might in fact be TOO BIG for me to realistically put any place but damn will it make for one heck of a showpiece for me to put my season 3 guys around. There's just no other option, planet wise. The fact that it transforms is almost a novelty to me (and meh, the shell bits are unfortunate but then I look back at that planet mode again and fall in love. I think I have to get this. Space be damned.)

Now if they could also throw in a couple of spaceships to go along with it too that'd be even sweeter! Gimme galvatron's ship and the corkscrew ship at least. Maybe a couple of clear rods to attach them to and clip them onto planet mode to look like they're flying around *drools*
