Look, I'm no one to tell anyone how to spend or save their money, but it's $45.00. It can be reclaimed in time, just enjoy it. Unless that $45.00 was going to feed you or pay a bill, enjoy the moment.

They could have received a case of something else random labeled by the DC as a case of Jetfires without it being noticed. Theft will also screw with inventory tracking, but Jetfire is a kinda big item to sneak out.

 

Never seen any Jetfires around here. Last checked, they were at places too far away. Didn't have the cash anyway. Shame, too. Those were some lovely effects parts.

 

It's not an error. It's just the standard YMMV Wal-Mart clearance. Some of the Wal-Marts in my area are still at full price while others are $45.

 

Hope yours at least carry the small guys. My closest Walmart only has Deluxes and restocked maybe once every 3 months Voyagers.

Now I'm picturing someone walking out of a Walmart with a Skyfire down his pants...

My theory is that this is a pricing error, Jetfires came into Walmart at $79.00 while he was $79.99 everywhere else. In my experience, the only items in Walmart that are priced with an even dollar amount is stuff that is clearanced.

With that in mind I think it may be possible that when items are on clearance the computer system automatically reduces the price after a given time period. So that may be why some stores have yet to drop the price to $45.00, they may have gotten their initial stock in a few days or weeks later than the other stores. Just wait, I bet either someone will catch the error and the price will be set to $79.99 or they will all clearance eventually.

My store maybe had Jetfire for like 3-4 weeks and they sold through 3 copies in that time, he wasn't exactly shelf warming for his price point. This has got to be some sort of Walmart computer system error.

 

Possibly, but this happened with PotP Leaders too. It's completely reasonable that the holiday reset is coming and these are just being phased out.

 

I'll take two Jetfire's at $45 please.

So one of my local Walmarts did get two of them as of a few days ago when this story first hit. I checked Brickseek yesterday and it said full price and they had 2. Today I checked, $45 was on brickseek and now limited stock for quantity. I jumped at the opportunity and went to the store and found none on the shelf, not only that the tag on the shelf was gone? My guess is a walmart employee snagged them and removed the tag.

 

They’re definitely out there. This was a Walmart by me this morning. They’re also clearancing out all Black Series (including Archive) and all special Marvel Legends (including the retro figures and multipacks that just came out).

 

That's the thing, you and I both know he's not stolen, most items they declare stolen aren't actually stolen. It's an easy cop-out so they don't have to do their jobs. And for the sake of argument, let's say they're right, then someone needs to up their loss prevention system ASAP. No one should be able to steal something of that size and price with such ease. It's just that some Walmart employees are lazy. Others want to help but can't.

I hope it is an error. Not that I want to prevent people from getting a $45.00 figure, that's fine, more power to them... I'm worried Walmart will see it as a failure and not carry them anymore. Every time they clearance something out before it should be, they end up messing it up for the customer and nothing gets found/bought in person. It's part of the reason I used to buy online specifically.

 

Didnt need one as I already have FT Phoenix, but picked one up as well. Just couldn't resist the old leader price point. I doubt it is a pricing error. I think their last resets were extremely late and these special items have a limited shelf life before clearance hits them, especially when their Christmas reset is forthcoming.

 

I'm glad some of you guys are having luck. I've never had brickseek pan out for anything.
