For people who haven't bought it yet - sure. But for people who already have they have a right to be upset. This isn't some $20 toy that you can just buy another one. This is $150. That's a lot for some people. Some people had to save their pennies to get it. Now they find out that the things they had a problem with will be fixed for the next guy? And, no doubt, done using the money they gave TE? Yeah, that kinda sucks.

Seconded. That seems like the first thing they should have fixed.

 

Next time we will wait the 5th version  

 

Then the 6th version will be called the retro version and will look like the 1st version. Then the 2nd version will be re-released and so on and the cycle will repeat itself and Transform Elements gets stuck in a time loop. The end.

Not sure if it's been posted here but just saw this collage comparison of TE-01 and MP-44 on Facebook. I didn't catch who created it so my apologies for not crediting. If anyone knows I can edit this post...

Have to admit that if TE-01 had the chest windows shaped like MP-44 I wouldn't even be interested in the official. TE looks better to me in almost every other way. Well, I also like MP-44's trailer, but bot is most important for me...

 

Between MP-01 and MP-10 I have enough trailers. I often wonder how much MP-44 would cost if they skipped the trailer (and it's accessories ie: roller, battle station, etc) and the electronic sounds gimmick.

 

Yeah, it's bullshit! The other day I walked into my living room and looked at my Transformers display but something was off. I looked around trying to figure out what had changed and then my eyes landed on Optimus - he just looked like shit now. He had been beautiful the day before. What could have happened to just utterly ruin him so? I came to this thread to see if anybody else had had this happen and stumbled across the news of the v3. So that's what happened! Why did TE have to ruin my perfectly good Optimus by making another one? This is completely unacceptable!

You saw pictures of what you were buying when you bought it, right? They didn’t trick you or anything, correct? Then it is not TE’s fault because you made a conscious decision. Nowhere in the fine print did they state that they would not keep improving their product. You are not entitled to anything because they delivered what was shown.

Since MP-44’s QC has been vastly subpar, should they not improve it next time for fear of offending the people who bought their initial release? Companies continually improve products if they want to stay viable, that’s how it works.

 

If they offered the upgrades to all the previous costumers that made the figure worth doing 3 versions of, even if for a small cost...then sure. Otherwise it kind of sucks when marginal, but definite upgrades are made with each reissue, because who can afford to pay $100+ for a couple improvements? And you'd take it in the shorts trying to sell the older version(s) to upgrade to the newer one. So yeah, the people coming in for the first time at the latest version...it's fanfuckingtastic! But to everyone that already made the figure a hit...too bad, so sad!

 

no they should have got things right in the first place before releasing their product ! the way they have gone about things is very amateurist for a company which ultimately will effect sales of what they release next because people will expect it to keep changing with each reissue of the same bloody figure , it's like they are just shooting themselves in the foot!! also this is one of the rare times i am going to act very entitled about it

 

I suspect they are either testing boundaries or baiting Hasbro.

Suppose Hasbro went after them only for the stickers. Does it mean Hasbro has no case for the figure itself?

(Sticker sheets are including by KO all the time.)

Also, sticker sheet can simply be removed. I think that's why the v2 head, being based on MP-44, is still loose-packed now.

 

Then you will be always an unsatisfied consumer because almost every product is improved after its initial launch, computers, phones, cars, toys, etc. Nothing amateurish about it, actually it is a sign of professionalism and the stiff competition they face.

MP-36 had all kinds of tolerance problems in its initial launch; in the second run, they remedied that. Probably the same with MP-44, definitely the same with Fanstoys and XTB releases.

 

So, if TE hadn't made improvements to v3, would your v1 or v2 be better than it currently is somehow?

 

I’d say these changes are clearly from feedback in the community and comparisons to MP44. Look at how many people modified their windows by either putting paper behind or stickers on the front. They also took out the shoulder indent and made a much better head. I bought magic square originally because the head was better but the new head got me to change my mind.

I’m only all up in this thread because of the improvements they’ve made making it the best option.

I agree people with older versions should be able to get the new pieces for a couple bucks like they did with the head but seeing all this response and actual fixes in response to feedback is the dream! Imagine Takara actually responded to the community with real knees on the 2nd batch of MP44. They sure aren’t going to offer separate new knees for $5 to the early adopters.

 

Still satisfied with my V1 but I’m never PO TE stuff again. I’ll wait for 3-5months before buying any of their products.

 

Yes, because it would still be the best version available. If it didn't make a difference, then why does the value drop when the improved version is released? The older versions didn't change any...why did its value change?

 

Aha! That explains why Smokescreen from Dork Side Toys came via Home Delivery. I never ever had a Smartpost package ship so fast before. It was less than two days, actually. He sent it around...I want to say 4:30ish Monday, it came Wednesday just a little before noon. Smartpost is one of the worst things ever devised. Not only is it slow, but they also know you're cheap to be using it, so you receive the cheapest quality, also. Nearly 2 weeks of travel, on trucks, being thrown around, just begs for something to be damaged/ruined.

 

Perfectly happy with the V1 here. V2 head was shipped to me anyway and I can put opaque inserts behind the windows myself. Or not. Whatever strikes my fancy.
