Lewin’s Op is a little bit taller in robot mode (28 inches for Op vs “over 27 inches” for Unicron). But I’m willing to bet that Haslab’s Unicron has alt mode length (30 inches ring to ring) and definitely wins on sheer mass (16.5 lbs vs 19 lbs without stand)

I think so. If anyone plans to support the Zeta figure, I think it’s best if you don’t announce it. It’s a safe bet that if this figure doesn’t get funded, you’ll probably get a lot of angry backers blaming you for supporting the third party version and not the offical. And judging from this thread, I also think there would be a lot of hate thrown Zeta’s way. Third party, specifically KOs, have become a staple amongst Transformers collectors. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember (I’m 21 and didn’t really start fully immersing myself in the fan base until 2011) so it’s kind of funny to see folks now hope that Hasbro does something to Zeta “to teach them a lesson”.

For me to sum it up is pretty simple. Zeta's looks great. And the transformation is pretty brilliant. I'll definitely give them that. Zeta's also seems to be affordable. It's a great figure and I do want to buy it. But I wouldn't really refer to it as a "grail". I can call Hasbro's a grail and not think twice about it.

I think the miniature figures and ships would have interest outside of Haslab Unicron — this toy just creates a base market for those items. And I see specific add ons that have use for just a single release all the time, a few off the top of my mind are MP Ultra Magnus hands and MP Dinobot weapons/racks. Do we have an idea of how many more than 8,000 units either of those MPs sold? 3P is a specialty market catering to a small audience with very specific interests. Should this get made, I think there will be interest in the add-ons described and I think some one will come along to address it

These are great ideas, but for $600 it should come with all this stuff.

Yeah, lots of nasty finger pointing and possibly a real tear between the 3P and non-3P folks.

I can just imagine some real ugliness happening.

    I'm sure they are terrified.

If choosing one toy over another makes people hate you - well, the opinions of people that would hate someone based on toy choices aren't worth diddly-shit in the first place and they can piss right off.

To some extent though I think the bigger target will be the Zetar (sp?) buyers.

If 5,647 people backed it, and it doesn't get made, then some of them would likely be disappointed, some might be relieved, and a very small vocal minority would swear vengeance upon Hasbro, Hasbro's children. and whatever force they believe to be responsible for this perceived slight. I'm guessing that the entirety of that minority population are the most vocal on this board and others like it, and are nothing more than a blip on Hasbro's radar. I'd say there are just as many rabid Sesame Street fans who are blaming whatever for not getting a Cookie Monster.

I dont plan on getting either. I like Unicron, but not enough to add him to my collection. I'll just leave this here as encouragement...

I'd HOPE that anyone with $600 to burn and a place to store an enormous 19lb sphere on a stand that weighs as much as a sledgehammer would be mature enough to go on with their lives, knowing full well that this was a long shot and there's nobody to to blame for this failure except the limited appeal of this particular large toy. We'll see.

Yeah, I've been tracking and noticed the same thing. The number has been slowly decreasing on a daily basis for the past week. I didn't know that you could pull out of the transaction once submitted.
