Be sure to ask him to swing by here and tell all other collectors to fuck off because that sort of behaviour damages the hobby for everyone.

This! I thought the had looked silly, inaccurate, and I actually was flabbergasted why so many people like it. And then I got mine. It looks a lot better IRL. Although I prefer the S2 head, they will be switched around! :)

I reckon there needs to be a sticky with all these colour matching and painting messages of yours and @Jarrod 's. They get lost in the haystack otherwise

I dont know they may let him return it , it is a collectors item something they are familiar with, and that damage goes well beyond a dent here, and there. Most likely they may refund a credit to his as account.

What do you suggest if Amazon says Nah, it's just a box and he paid $330 for it and cares about the box? Not trying to argue with you, but just wondering. It's strictly a business situation between him and Amazon. It has nothing to do with other collectors or this hobby. It's only coincidental that the contents aren't broken, considering the immense damage on the box. I know it's ethically wrong to purposely break a figure and as a TF collector since 1984, I could never do that and would rather take my loss than to break a perfectly intact TF figure. I was just giving the options if Amazon decided that he should not get a refund for a partially broken product. Because the box IMO is part of the product. I'm not saying he should do that.

Amazon is a wholesale company that sells everything. They don't care about collecting. If he didn't break the figure and sent it intact back with the dented box, Amazon would still simply throw the entire thing away. That's how these large companies work. They don't refurbish them. The pristine MP-44 with dented box will simply be thrown in the bin by Amazon. It's just administration and sales loss to them. Sending it back in perfect condition with dented box to Amazon will make no difference at all. It would only make a difference if the seller was a person on Ebay or something. The seller would be stuck with a broken figure that didn't need to be broken. That's where your criticism is incorrect, because Amazon is the seller here.

Another example. A friend of mine bought a $3000 PC. One internal USB cable was broken that could be easily replaced for $3. The warehouse simply threw the entire PC in the bin! For such large companies, handling a returned $330 figure for days costs more money on salaries and administrative costs than to throw it away. That's why they do it.

In fact, I experienced the same situation multiple times over the years. I bought boxed vintage G1 and reissue figures that arrived with totally damaged boxes. Whenever I could not get a refund, I sold the boxes for a low price to someone who's handy enough top fix it and purchased original replacements if I were lucky to find them in auctions.

No problem man! Feel free to let me know if you got any questions. What do you mean by material? Equipment? The number after is the “parts” of paint in the mixture. I believe next to 1/32, I wrote “a little bit”, as I didn’t know what else to type for it, so for 1/32, and a smaller portion of paint compared to the ones using 1. Hope that helps!

Alright, its been a while since I last posted, and it's been 9 days since I got MP-44, and I have to say, it is holding up well. The transformation is super fun now, and it takes about 10 minutes from car to robot and 15 mins from robot to car. None of the joints got looser, and all the accessories work properly. I've had some minor paint chipping, but nothing that really matters. Knees are still great, but I've been careful. I don't understand how the flight stand is supposed to work, (The MP-44 one, not Dinobot one) as I'm having a had time fitting Optimus on the port. Otherwise, for people who want this, I'd recommend waiting for the second run, as it will fix most of the issues. Anyways, who to get next? MP-36 or some Autobots?

Right. The price is inconsequential; when I purchase a new item, it needs to arrive to me in that condition. That's a reasonable expectation of doing online sales.

I have been VERY fortunate that the figure contents were undamaged. The MP box had a flap bent so badly it cut the factory tape. There was just enough room for the box to scoot around that the entire package could have rattled loose and who knows what.

Knees still work like a charm on both my copies. This guy's an absolute miracle.

Either 36 to have his arch enemy (and my 2nd fave figure behind 44), or his soon to be release little yellow buddy, MP-45 Bumblebee.

Well, if you go for MP-36, at least you know it's been reissued and has addressed issues from the first release. And it just goes so well with Prime. :)

Been busy with UNI and healing my thumb, all primed and ready to handle MP-44 tomorrow! Almost two weeks since he's arrived at my house, constantly checked the thread and re-watched YouTube video reviews on MP-44 to ease my impatience with the whole ordeal... hopefully it pays off, because my bank account for sure did.

In the mean-time, I killed some time working on this digi of MakeToys meteor and how I think Starscream 3.0 would roughly look like with the head that comes with MP-44. I wanted to do curved air-intakes, but there were no photos with low saturation or the right angles. Not sure how well this turned out, I think the hands could've been better, they're re-coloured MP-36 hands. :p

Excited to see what G1 releases follow after MP Hound... because man is Prime beautiful and that Starscream headsculpt is SO Starscream. Better not be 5 years until we get new seekers though. :lol
