Here is it, ya'll. My POTP Volcanicus swan-schlong. My magnum-orifice. The Pièce De Résistance. It looks great with a huge sword and a set of thighmasters...and it's quasi-practical as well. I hope you all enjoy it!

This upgrade is actually an upgrade to my existing chest upgrade design in that it is larger, more menacing and has provisions to carry a couple of Titan or Prime Masters. It still serves the role of filling in the empty spots on the front of the chest as well as providing additional support for the arms. AND, there is also a version intended to be specifically compatible with figures that have been upgraded with the Perfect Effects kit (the PE-compatible version will NOT provide arm support to Volcanicus in his stock (non-PE) configuration). ANNNNND there are two flavors of each of those versions (one with Stegosaurus plates on the front and one with gnarly-looking teeth on the front). That's a total of four different configurations (non-PE w/Stego plates, non-PE w/Teeth, PE w/Stego plates and PE w/Teeth).

I have some of these available on my Shapeways store right now and I will have the rest up soon. Stay tuned for updates!

The pic immediately below is of the PE-compatible version...with Stego plates.

    PE-compatible with Teeth:

And here's a preliminary pic showing how the Titan/Prime Master covers open to reveal the Master hidden inside (the covers are attached using a pin made from a piece of paper clip wire).

No, you do not. Shapeways will print it and ship it to you. And to be honest, due to the complexity of the design, I do not recommend printing this at home (a lot of cutting up of the design will be required in order to print it with decent results). Don’t get me wrong, it is certainly printable at home...but there will need to be a fair amount of assembly after printing. Take a look at the models on Shapeways. You can do a 3D view that lets you look at them from all angles. There are details everywhere.

Very nice, I’ve been upgrading my volcanicus as well. Looks like a similar chest we’ve both used.

Lol...yeah. That looks like the chest 4everevil put up on Thingiverse. He used my original chest upgrade as a basis and added his own design details (which I love, btw). I then incorporated some of his front chest design into this Stego chest upgrade.

Edit: I just noticed you have the thighmasters!! Awesome. Did they fit OK for you??

The models currently available on Shapeways will work with a stock Volcanicus but they don't include any extra support for the combiner arms. I am going to upload a couple extra versions in the next couple days that will. I would wait for those if you plan to use it with a stock Volcanicus.

Those are awesome. I seem to recall someone posting a pic of those (maybe you??) a while back with a note that they intended to upload them to Thingiverse at some point. I'm glad that finally happened. I am tired of the little girly feet on my Volcanicus. Thanks for sharing that!!

I just uploaded two additional models to my Shapeways store that are compatible with a non-PE-equipped Volcanicus. These models include support tabs that help to stabilize Grimlock's arms while in torso mode and help to make Volcanicus's arms MUCH more stable. If they don't show up on the Shapeways page right away, give it a little while...things seem to take a lot of time to process and show up sometimes.

    Enjoy!

so you dropping snarl from the combined mode and using red and blue swoop?

speaking of you should make a piece for the back that lets swoop attach and spread his wings.

That would make sense! I think someone else on here was working on or actually made a Swoop backpack attachment. This design is actually a request from another user who wanted me to emulate this character:

This version was only ever made available on Shapeways due to the complexity.
