Gears 5 Campaign Review - IGN Spoiler So highlights, Old Man Marcus in his mentor role(he has the best line of dialogue in the game, you’ll know when he says it), Jack has been incorporated into gameplay, bigger levels(50 times bigger, IRCC) that you can explore for secondary missions(which supply you with upgrades for Jack). Perfectly balances old and new weapons. Story wise, this goes deep into the lore then ever before. Only downside is the ending, comes across as a lesser Halo 2 ending.
Got my copy bought and it’ll installed by tonight! Won’t be able to play it till tomorrow night and won’t be able to really get into it till Sunday!
I’m waiting until Tuesday to pick this up but I’m still replaying 4 so that’ll keep me busy until then.
heres hoping. just a warning, there is a mandatory tutorial before you can do anything else in the game, was able to play that but nothing else would load
yea, pretty much that sort of thing, but its separate from the campaign unlike gears 1 where it was just the first part of the campaign
Now I’ve got my own issues, despite pre-ordering the ultimate edition, I don’t seem to have any of the bonuses...
Figures, I go through the tutorial, have to log off for a little in order to do something, and when come back with plenty of time to spare, XBOX Live is down! And I have work tomorrow! So much for me getting a few hours in on this today.
This is getting ridiculous, issues with playing the damn game 2 days in a row. Remind me why I spent the extra $20 to play it early
Yesterday nothing past the tutorial would load and today there are Xbox live issues causing an inability to login and you can’t play the single player campaign without being signed in
I was able to play some campaign mode on friday night/saturday morning. Really enjoyed the game so far. I am a huge gears fan. The characters are much more interesting in 5, as opposed to in 4.(so bland) I love the new Lancer mk.3 gun. And Jack the robot droid totally adds a new gameplay dynamic to the combat.
The Campaign was great until that point, they shouldn't of gave us the choice. The Coalition should have made the decision on it, it left me frustrated for Gears 6 and unemotional knowing that I had the choice and knew what outcome would be.
