there's different types of color blindness, depending on the type of cones that are affected (humans have cones which detect red, green, or blue). red-green blindness IS the most common, but there's also blue-yellow blindness, and complete color blindness...

sorry for the off-topic post, but back to Unicron => another vote for movie accurate colors (for those who aren't color blind)...! :D

I dunno, don’t see any yellow or blue. Maybe the greys on the legs have some hue of blue but looks more like a darker grey to me.

I just watched the transformation video.

    Fuck me that's clever.

And it actually transforms, every godamn bit of it, rather than just hide inside it's own kibble.

Not that it has any kibble.

That's some Unique Toys Movie figure level wizardry right there.

    Bravo, sirs, bravo.

    That's not from the movie.

His legs are a kind of bluish grey. That's what they mean when they say blue.

The voting thing is funny. As if zeta is going to read this thread and your "votes" are going to count for anything.

I'd love a story where they had to evacuate Earth and have Earthling emigrate to Cybertron so that the two species have to co-exist.

EDIT: They'd have to evacuate because Unicron would fully awaken and transform, destroying the planet. The planet's core is actually Unicron's spark, and every earthquake ever experienced is basically Unicron stretching or stirring in his sleep.

That actually sounds like fun but how would they avoid the sfx budget by padding the movie with scenes of humans driving Earth cars around Earth environments then? And how would they get that sweet sweet licensing money from the car companies?

Considering the amount of panel that need to be flipped over I'm confident we'll get something that's accurate enough.

A comic would reduce the budget, and the beginning can always be set on Earth with new alt modes based on new models. Just have the logo really clear for readers to see. Or just thrown in adverts fir the cars halfway through the book.

I would be surprised if we see any major changes at this point and the maw is very doubtful considering that they know it is enough of an issue to create the stand as an add on part.

I'd prefer so tweaks to the arms and shoulders to allow the panels to swap directions and give them better deco control. I'd gladly sacrifice the "inside grabber" detail in the arms to allow a flip. But again I don't think we will see any major tooling changes.

I don't know why they designed it that way in the first place. The shape of the teeth are completely wrong, and it's the wrong number of them. Using the stand to replace the maw is a good idea but they're only giving us the open maw option and that's the right design we should have.

So that's where Badcube's guys went. I was wondering why we haven't seen a panelforming headache lately.

I will say that this thing looks really nice. Panel explosion transformations aren't my favorite, but it actually kind of works for a big figure. At least it's not like trying to unpack/repack BC Grump, which was like performing surgery on a mouse. I can also see why Haslab didn't do it this way - it would be a nightmare of a figure to pass through any kind of toy safety regulations and the QC from Hasbro would be a quick trip to Customer Complaintsville.

Still, this looks like an awesome offering. Good for Zeta and its crew. Wish it was a bit bigger, but that's about it.

unacran copy.jpg Kinda sorta improved Cheebs' rendering. Not perfect, but if they can produce decent paint apps it'll be that much better. View attachment 28389173

I like it but the blue is a little too blue. Should be a little darker and less saturated. And did you check where in bot mode those panels are? The ones you put the "crater" pattern on. To make sure that it won't mess up the bot mode paint scheme.

Interesting, but I prefer Cheeb's layout; I'd rather the paint follow the sculpting lines on this figure.

What kind of colour should the stand be?
    Grey, blue, orange?

The pic colors are identical to the original image on my computer; something happened during the upload. Back of the legs and side toes are the only parts that would be affected; the other panels are hidden.
