Cool - So Blaster is out, Shockwave's repaint is out.

Is Desert Hound out yet ?

 

I haven't seen Desert Hound out yet but hzj401 has the Dark Green version in. I nabbed one of those along with blaster. He also has both up available boxed as well now.

 

Oh Really - that is super strange that we see the sand one first but the green one ships first (I wonder if anyone remembers the Tracker Hound deco - if they want to keep repainting them)

If things are going to surprise - show up with almost no notice I'm starting to wonder how quickly it will be before Orion Pax is released now ?

If they want to do some random repaints still I'd not say no to Deep Cover, Clamp Down, Tigertrack & more eBox colours too (especially white, Marine Grey, Light-Medium Blue and Sand). Not to mention Bad Boy, Small Foot and Road Ranger too.

so MS-01 Springer and MS-01U Springer are exactly the same, unfortunately (i was hoping it would be a repaint, metallic or otherwise)...

i asked hzj401 about it and here was his reply:
"no difference as I see but the factory issued it as another number,so I open a new number for it,too.regards"

i asked again to make sure, and here was his next reply:
"no difference I can see,both are metal grey color,the original plastic color is metal grey,no addtional paint on the sufferences."

 

So you gonna buy it to make sure?

 

Springer is a tricky one I could buy a whole set and paint one of them with more yellow accents and gets some extra guns or buy just the little robot (not so likely to get that easily) and potentially miss out on some of the guns. I think I like the mini-suit enough to buy the toy just for that though... Though I think i'd prioritise some of the more impressive repaints & new moulds as purchases 1st. So I may get around to it by November if that is the way I decide to go. I can always put one on a flight stand in helicopter mode and leave it there.

 

is MFT Ultra magnus 2.0 out yet? I remember someone local selling him on FB and im wondering where they got him from

I received my 'MS-01U' version of Springer from HZJ the other day and can confirm that there are 2 differences:

1. The Mech Suit is completely different [I think everyone here knew that, but confirming just in case].

2. The screws on 'U' are Silver, as opposed to Black on the original release.

Otherwise, he's exactly the same - kind of a bummer, but it will push me to try some mods such as the leg=shortening hack and maybe some additional paint.

 

You know, if they could re-release Springer like you described, I don't see why they don't couldn't do regular reissues of metallic Sludge for example for people who're having a hard time tracking one down.

that is a crock of horse shit. we all knew about the mech being different. but i thought at the very least it was the yellow deco. but either way thanks for taking one for the team.

 

Yeah, kind of a bummer, especially considering I really didn't NEED another MFT Springer [I already own a few copies of the original release]; I really only bought this one because I love Springer and thought the deco would be at least a little bit different - given that they created all-new box art and included a different Mech Suit, I thought the chances were pretty good of him being different. Nope - other than the color of the screws, he's identical as far as I can tell.

I guess the new Mech Suit lessens the blow a little, but it still kinda sucks. Ah well, won't feel bad messing him up with some customization attempts!

Totally agree with you @Jedah Dohma - if they can give this guy a re-release, why not a figur that everyone is clamoring for and paying a hefty price for on eBay? Last I checked, Springer was still available, so why the 'MS-01U' re-release in the first place? I saw some places list him as 'Metallic', but the only thing metallic on him are the unpainted screws!

 

It does seem daft that the yellow chest/toy colours version is some super-rare exclusive when I'm sure there are plenty of idiots like me who would totally re-buy MS-01 Samurai/Assault Soldiers in 'em. It's a no brainer, seeker-tier reuse that you could totally get away with!

 

They said a few months ago they were going to reissue the entire set. My guess is slightly different deco. Was supposed to be a gift set. Honestly, I'm kinda hoping for a G2 color scheme though the only one I would really want would be Grimlock

 

G2 decos will get me to buy them all again.

Twice for Grimmy, Slag, and Snarl if they release them in both of their G2 colors...

 

Instant buy if the do a re-issue of metallic Sludge. It looks like all my Dinobots sets, except the Iron Factory ones, miss one or two members. With Planet X it's Grimlock and Swoop. With DX9 it's Grimlock. And with MFT it's Sludge. Give me my Dinobots now!!!

Just recently bought MFT Springer and then saw the metallic Springer, was a little bumped out but reading here it is just the screws makes it better.

Like the power armors but not really in the game for them, except lil'Omega Supreme.

What is it with the name of this figure? Is it Assault Soldiers or Samurai? On the box it's Assault Soldiers but on some sites I've seen Samurai. First thought it was two different releases.

 

I have the suspicion that they accidentally "Engrished" the deliberate Westernisation and actually meant to label him "Commando", and IIRC in certain East Asian countries English has a xenophile "Cool factor", like Japanese and/or other languages have in certain (mostly nerdy) Western cultures.

 

Baba shipped my MFT Grapple & Inferno. Looking forward to those two quite a bit!

 

Im caught up on MFT/IT/HS G1 stuff. Need Astrotrain when he shows up. When should we see/hear of any more upcoming G1 goodies?

It also shows the box has a checkbox on the base that has MF-49B and MF-49T on it too.

I'd suggest the logical colours for those would be Shattered Glass Blaster and Twin Cast, but i'd not rule out a minor repaint like Hound & Six Shot got or even a Black version like Six Shot got too.
