Yes I imaging that is one of, if not the only 'reason'.

Honestly I can't think of anything else. He's not necessarily unique in any way other than the "BWII" logo. We've had beastformers, we've had MP Optimus Primes, we've had Primes that were beastformers, we've had massive MPs,a we've had figures that are seemingly far more complex than this. I honestly don't see why they would charge this price other than a simple "MP tax" like other big name brands do to unnecessary commodities.

    Don't worry, they'll get there.

What surprises me is that domestic shops even touch the MP line anymore. Are they making such a profit on the first half that it supports sitting on or giving away the second half?

“Lio Convoy is a popular character“

Is he really though outside of Japan?
Granted he did get some mainline love but aside from that what else highlights that he was popular outside of Japan?

Well, he’s among the few bw characters to get a 3p figure (the first of I’m not mistaken) and was featured heavily in both of the idw beast wars comics

yep, idw ran two 4 issue miniseries, the gathering and the ascending, that covered many of the non show bw characters and included a bunch of bw2 and bwneo characters as well and a 4 issue character profile sourcebook

The Gathering, a miniseries from IDW. Not very well received, though, as it was just an excuse to cram in as many of the extended-universe BW characters as possible into the pages.

I rather enjoyed it to be honest. I only wish I had run longer than just a mini-series.

i enjoyed both miniseries and was really disappointed that they never got to finish out the trilogy, if im remembering right the 3rd miniseries would have had megatron taking over cybertron pre beast machines and also covered how the stranded maximals and predacons on pre historic earth made it back to cybertron

Oh man I would have loved that! I also was dying to see toys made of those pre-beast form Maximals and Predacons, such as flashback Lio Convoy.

At least one did get made, brimstone from the 2010 transformers/hunt for the deceptions line was based on the pre beast wars manterror (or the other way around)

TakaraTomy are not (overly) concerned by the non-japanese market, as they don't trade in it. The import market might come into their calaculations but it's most certainly not their main concern. I'm sure between TT's domestic (Japan) market and that of Hasbro Asia (both of which had the BWII shows back in the day) there will be more than enough interest in an MP of the main character/goody from the series to do a full (non limited) run of the figure. TT and Hasbro Asia being the principle distributors of MPs....in short there is no indication that this is a limited/short production run, it's just conjecture on your part.

You may have but sales didn't reflect that enough people shared that opinion. I thought it was...alright, it didn't set my world alight.

Wow, some one is a little sensitive to a genuine question.

I’ll be sure to put my blinkers on stare at this:

You're welcome! I was only trying the help you know! I simply answered your genuine question with demonstrable facts and/or evidence, no sensitivity involved. Clearly you are unreceptive of such things ...how peculiar.

So do you guys think that to make a pattern of every time they get to mp _8 they will do another leader, I bet for mp 58 they\'ll do big convoy, then for mp 68 they\'ll do Optimus Primal from beast machines.

I also noticed that too and would think it’s a cool idea. But so far Takara’s inconsistency tells me to not expect anything.
