Visited Mandarake at Nakano Broadway over the weekend in the hopes of finding a Gladiator to finish off my BAF Apocalypse. Sure enough, I tracked him down there (for much less than I would have paid on eBay or something) and my Apocalypse is now complete! Gladiator himself isn't a bad fig either, along with the rest of his BAF wave mates. Also cracked open the vintage set with Hulk vs. first appearance Wolverine. Very cool figures both, though Hulk wins out for me with his classic look and ripped shirt accessory. Wolvie isn't too bad though that style of head will always remind me of a cat instead of a wolverine.
Does anyone have a Netflix Jessica Jones they’d be willing to sell me? Finally finished season 3 last night, and I gotta have her figure. I’d prefer the regular version over the SDCC exclusive. Figured I’d ask here before hunting on eBay. PM me!
It's tough being a X-Men fan, they've had so many uniform variants over the years. I can think of a dozen Dazzler figures that I would love to have. She needs her very own boxset.
Got a spare Storm today and actually bought books! I think I just have a reflex not to spend toy money on books. Seeing Annihilus is making me want a new figure to go with my FF collection.
This is why I'm not neccesarrily trying to build any one particular era or team, but just getting each character in my favorite look. Though for me that happens to be very 80s/90s centric.
Nice, that's so the very the version that I want. I did my Domino custom last night. I gave her IW Black Widow's lower legs. She looks so much better now without the gaudy knight boots.
Thor Wave: Gorr Heimdal (Esad Ribic version) Screwbeard Balder (Esad Ribic version) Thunderstrike Warriors 3 BAF Dario Agger (Minotaur) In the vehicle packs: Toothnasher and Toothgrinder with Thor
So, just went into Walgreens today to pick up my meds and decided to check and see if they had any Emmas. It looks like they decided to restock with Namors and Medusas. I haven't seen either of those figures at this store in forever.
Well I don't have a list of what characters Hasbro should make. I'm just going with figures that look cool and try to obtain them to put them on the shelf if that makes sense.
I feel like that would have been a better two pack than the Cyke and Jean from the Love Triangle. Because it goes the opposite way too: I might be tempted to pick up X-Factor Jean, but by the time they make one this Cyke will be long gone.
So you either buy it now with the hope that Hasbro (most likely) will finish an easy to finish team or you hope that when X-Factor Jean finally gets released there's another release of X-Factor Cyke. Completing teams is unfortunately a difficult pastime unless Hasbro decides to specifically focus on getting a popular team out to people.
The Whedon story helped me with that. Not the look but the idea that when they scrambled they grabbed whatever outfit was lying on the floor.
I find it interesting that they keep their old uniforms around to be able to do that. Maybe they have an area like Batman does where he keeps all the old costumes on display?
I don't remember that in the Whedon run, but I definitely remember it from Ellis' issues just after. Storm had a new (equally improbable) outfit in every issue.
That's... yeah call me an idiot, but I'd never thought about something as obvious as that. Better than destroying them.
I haven't looked at it since the motion version was on nf but some of the outfits mixed bits from different eras. It was when the Sentinals showed up at the mansion in the middle of the night. I think they where supposed to look like they dressed in the dark.
