Ok, I've put in my preorder with TF Direct. Now it's just a matter of waiting a few months if not more !! Finally gonna have a Unicron worthy of actually displaying in planet mode !!

Cool to see preorder there, I may wait til Showz shows up. Considering we haven't even seen this thing in color and the preorders are just starting, are we seriously going to see it in 2019? My bet is post Chinese New Year.

What caught my surprise is when:
    - They pull out that long legs from the sphere.
    - They made the shins as encasement for the upper leg.
    - The shoulder parts is made from panels.
    - The front and back skirts are from panels as well.
    - Shoulder joints is made from die-cast to carry arm's weight.
    - The robot mode is clean

It's not the biggest TF toy out there but it's the best representation of Unicron in both modes.
    Sorry HasLab.

Zeta boys are geniuses in terms of engineering.
A clean robot from a sphere.

While a crowdfunded official unicron toy by a big toy company still have the planet parts still dangling on it's back.

A big slap on Has-Tak's designers.

If that's the argument, then Hasbro's window was supposed to have already closed. People who wanted it would have already declared such and paid for it.
Zeta's being released (or pre-orders becoming available) after that window closed would mean it is not competing.

Also, to get back on track, I MUCH prefer Zeta's Unicron. I can't wait to see how much the final price will be, and I'll pre-order.

Are there people cancelling their preorders of Haslab unicron for this Zeta one? there are like 5 people in this thread that have said so... That's undeniable proof that these two are competing... at least to small degree.

Hello all, I tried doing many searches for this but wasn't able to find an answer. Apologies if it's already been mentioned, I couldn't find it:

Does anybody know the rough dimensions of height/width/depth of planet mode? I seem to only come across measurements for robot mode. Trying to plan for this to see if it can fit in my Detolf as a planet.

If Hasbro didn't reach their crowdfunding quota, I'll not wonder they'll go full force to go after 3P companies making money on anything G1.

eeeeeeh, not really. Bot mode 100% goes to zeta, but the planet mode easily goes to hasbro. Zeta's is going to have a jumbled mess of colors on his planet mode due to most of it being from the robot, so he won't have that yellow/orange ring going around the planet, and will have bits of orange/yellow in places it shouldn't be.

Yep, I agree. Sometime around March or later I would suspect unless they are already fast into a colour prototype.
I mean, how fast did they go from CGI renders to a full blown test shot !??

My belief is they already had this thing made way before TT decided to show theirs.
Then they decided to jump in the bandwagon to see if they could get a chunk of the sales before the official hits the market !!

    I'm only assuming, but that's what I'd do if I were a 3rd party.

Hasbro's Unicron has now begun actively losing backers since the recent update in this thing.

Not sure if hasbro's was ever going to fund or not- but if it doesn't there is now a very real chance that this will have been why.

This had better cost considerably less since it's smaller and the planet mode (the part I really care about) isn't as impressive.

If Hasbro's doesn't fund I will be getting this thing.

    But I will be disappointed.
