FT39 coming next month! Hopefully this will be the release that restores my faith in my once favorite 3rd party company!! (Full disclosure: I did not get their Motormaster or Silverbolt).

 

Once again, a SLIGHT repaint that isn't entirely worth the money. Now they're just lazy!!! Why can't they do something far more interesting like issue a G1 TOYrepaint? Didn't the comic G1 Galvatron have a different color scheme as well? If so, that would be cool too! I'd be thrilled with either. But instead, they're giving us Purple No. 5 and now Purple No. 5 with a drip of Blue No. 2. Come on.   It's bad enough I let myself get fleeced with FT-29T.

If anyone actually LIKES this repaint, that's awesome. I hope you love it and cherish it. All the best to you. But for me, I'd prefer something far more dramatic and worthwhile to drop $160 for. Like the aforementioned G1 toy and/or comic colors. Having said that, I will admit that the recolor does look good! I like it. But I already have the 'standard' one and I don't want 50 shades of purple Galvatron taking up space on my MP shelf.

I don't think we'll ever know why FT went this route but I suspect this was a way for them to deliver a reissue but at the same time make the production run worth doing, since it could lead to interest from those that already have the previous version and avoid stale inventory. Phoenix and Cyclonus certainly point to that for me.

I'm not saying I disagree with you and a toy version isn't wanted but it just comes down to smart business decision making and its possible FT doesn't see the demand for the toy version or at least, at this time anyway.

I first learned of this by someone mentioning 16M in another thread. My first thought was M is for Marvel. I've got nothing but disappointment that it was wrong.

I would say yes. There is no guarantee you will get what you want, but if you do you can probably resell the original version without taking a loss, or even at a profit if you are patient and wait for the new version to sell out.

 

Who says FT are not doing a Marvel repaint?  
Anyway, many people want the blue. Now we have it.
Finally someone beside Unique Toys has done a blue galvatron.

Dx9 or another 3rd party could collect bank on a MP Marvel Galvatron sooner than later.

 

I'm slightly regretting selling off FT-29T now, but only slightly. I wasn't looking forward to the mix-n-match needed to get a purple bodied Cyclonus with white skintone parts. But that would look even better next to FT-16M than regular FT-29.

 

I got this guy from some asshole who ripped me off good. So I knew this was eventually gonna happen.
Oh well, I may sell the old one and get this from a reliable seller.

 

I feel the same way about this as I did the Quietus repaint- annoyed. I mean, it's better than the original, but not worth the hassle of replacing the one I already got. So how about getting it right the first damn time, Fans Toys?

 

Depending on the source material your looking at they did get it right the first time. Is is a slight variation and aimed at people who missed out on the first release and not people who already own one.

 

Yeah I think this is for folks who missed out more than folks who have one.

I actually like the standard purple Version 1 more but this is subtle enough of a change that I wont mind getting it.

 

M for Movie color I take it.

 

This is how I remember Galvatron looking from the get go. The original VHS always had a blue hue to it than the later remastered DVD's or even the season 3 cartoon.

 

I just checked Taobao for FT-16M preorders and saw none listed. Did they sell out within seconds like FT-29T preorders?
