If anything I’d say the MP is better. It feels more connected than being on just a pin.

Mp definitely looks better to me . Imo anything that fixes the lion head blocking the arm from moving out is a win .

Agreed. It's not very...Masterpiece is it? I know 'Masterpiece' now equals show accurate (and great articulation) but it's not even that. The lion kibble was smaller in the show and when it flipped forward it sat flush to his forearms, the paws sat on his wrists and the blades were much longer. They've just....done it wrong and it's sort of baffling! I have happily had them be removable with replacement kibble/blades that looked more show accurate. I know that's not ideal for everyone, it's a bit of a cheat but look at the MP line right now! Loads of MPs have faux parts...roofs on their chests and wheels on their limbs that aren't actually from the car mode, heads on their chests that aren't actually from the beast mode...it's all a cheat! MP-44 pretty much turns inside out! Almost nothing 'pretending' to be from his truck mode in robot mode is authentic(guys, this isn't a criticism...just an observation). How is that really any different to parts-forming? You're just popping the spare parts inside the alt-mode on an armature or hinge rather that removing them(and maybe reattaching elsewhere).

I'd initially been surprised by how excited I was by this release, I still am in a way because it's out of the ordinary and bodes well for MPs from Beast Wars and other areas of the franchise, however the arm kibble and the price (and lack anything to warrant that price) have put me off. I mean come on TT almost twice as much as Primal and you don't include Artemis or a stand!? There's not even any stand adaptors! He's a super dynamic character for Pete's sake! Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous looking figure and despite all this I'm still a little tempted, I just don't think he packs enough bag for my buck. Far be it from me to suggest TT cheaped out on this figure thinking they can rely on the 'Convoy' appeal to a carry the price tag but...yeah...it does sort of look like that from where I'm standing.

Yeah I’d say that’s one the most important parts. But I still feel cheated that they didn’t think, at one point, to give him some alternate faces.

Not sure where you’re looking at the price from but it’s 1.5x of primal’s Msrp where I’m seeing and po ed from. As for stands, while it doesn’t come with one , I do believe I see a universal peg hole below the crotch for your standard action base

I did say 'almost', strictly he is 1.6 recurring x Primal’s MSRP...so OK I'll concede it's not as close to twice as much as I thought(I hadn't checked the figures in a while)...but we can agree it's quite a lot more for what exactly? Same size? Check. Same Paint? No arguably less/less complex. Same number of accessories? Erm...possibly less actually? I'm sure he has a peg hole much like Primal has...never suggested he didn't. I just think TT are charging too much for too little...that is just my opinion though!

Totally agree. I miss the days when you were transforming a vehicle or something into a robot. Now we're just taking two different things and joining them along one spine then folding each down as much as possible to be hidden as much as possible. There's such a lack of shared parts that it drives the cost up along with complexity just for the sake of being a slave to some cheap animation from decades ago. Leo Convoy is a perfect example of all of this.

Have the extras or accessories been announced? Is there anything specific from his meeting with Primal in the special that maybe included? Been a few years since I last watched it. Can't say enough how awesome this guy looks, the paint, the beast mode and robot mode they knocked out of the park. Cheap looking, nah lolol

Lio Convoy* and I'm not sure we do agree. We agree on what's happening but have different feelings about it. I'm ok with it, if it achieves a desirable result. I was actually saying I sort of wish they'd done more of it with Lio Convoy, instead of just leaving those oversized lion arms hanging off his forearms like that. Sure I'd rather the robot mode shared as many actual alt-mode parts as possible, but I'm ok with a little cheating...some MPs go too far some not far enough I think.

Well, I bit the bullet and preordered. I figure worst case scenario I can always sell him and break even, since my AJ preorder is discounted. But there’s something about his bot mode I just really like, and I can always use a deskbot.

The list of accessories were 'leaked' by TTemploy who thus far has been pretty much on the money. However Bumblebee does appear to be coming with additional stickers and Hound might include an extra gun. It's been confirmed by Figure King that Artemis is definitely not included.

Oh were they? Well that only reinforces my suggestion that we know everything Lio's coming with.

I've not seen any mention of one or batteries so I'm guessing no? Are we sure this isn't a light?

There's gotta be some straw to clutch at to justify the price surely!

Isn’t that just a matrix type chamber like the old toy?

Really would have liked to see a light up eyes feature like the Optimus Primal. It was done so well as far as activation of the gimmick.

Also not sure what’s wrong with the price, I’m assuming lower production run so higher price. Amazon.co.jp has him for $155 shipped which I thought was great.

Yes it is, but that doesn't mean it can't or won't light up does it? Like I said I've seen no metion of electronics so I'm assume he has none.
There's nothing 'wrong' with the price. I'm just unsure what justified a 65% increase on Primal's MSRP. He's the same size, he has as many (maybe less) accessories, he has a less elaborate paint job, he appears to have no electronics. It could be it's a smaller production run but I doubt it, Lio Convoy is a popular character and this is a main line (not TT Mail exclusive) release. I'm failing to see how the price is warranted.
