That is a wonderful suggestion but I think I prefer engaging in incessant mockery.

Look, I get it: with a character like Unicron, a bigger figure would be preferable to a smaller one. Even setting aside the size of the city bots or mp combiners, a bigger Unicron is better: it would just have more shelf presence and would do a better job of evoking the menace of Unicron even if the actual size is hundreds of orders of magnitudes too small to be anything resembling accurate. But this just isn't that figure. This one is 19". All the complaining in the world isn't going to change that. Wish in one hand and $#!% in the other and see which one fills up faster. To keep droning on about it accomplishes nothing but to clutter the thread. And yes, I'm being a little hypocritical because mocking the size complaints does the same. But then I've never claimed a lack of hypocrisy.

Dude, you're making entirely too much sense for this board and for this thread in particular. This is the thread where it was leaked that the figure would be 40ish centimeters and that was followed up with page after page of people thinking if was going to be 40 inches. No amount of correction could stop it - people were convinced it was going to be ginormous. On this site, everybody loses their minds at even the slightest appearance of a potential issue whether it's a test shot, prototype, render, or a freaking concept sketch. Trying to speak sense around here is trying to use your finger to plug the dike when the whole damn wall is falling around you.

I really enjoy the posters who think Zeta might actually upscale this.

You know Zeta, there seems to be a market for both a small and large version of this. Just saying...

Probably because they took more time and were more gentle. The Hasbro can't stand upright at the mo and just flopped all over panel wise, are we to write that off too because of that?

No. We don't. Because that's silly too.

It totally makes sense that Unicron would nom planets through the top of his head.

What are these 4 panels? they seem a little out of place.

I like the Hasbro Unicron, but it's more akin to being just a display piece. Because of the size, it's going to be hard to "play" with. Still, it's a nice-to-have, if you have the money for it. The nice thing about Zeta's Core Star, is that the size is more manageable, costs less, and likely something that you'd be willing to "play" with.

Yep, buying both for those exact reasons. Haslab for display, zeta to play with.

Another thing is that video for zeta unicron has made me interested in making a custom primus (using some of the tricks their Unicron uses) to stand with haslab Unicron.

I don't think I've ever heard that man say something positive about Hasbro, and it erks me. Like find 3rd part superior, sure, but don't pretend that a $20 figure should be held to the same standard as MP 3p figures.

Exactly, Some people are still buying the Hasbro one just because he is taller, even if the Zeta one looks a lot cooler... It is interesting than for some collectors SCALE >>>>> engineering, sculpt, paint, etc...

That's not a "mild" upscale. A jump from 19" to ~24" inches doubles the toy's overall mass.

Interesting, but not surprising. I can absolutely appreciate why some would want the biggest character in the mythos to be the biggest thing in their collection.

It's not really mockery if they can't see what you're saying.

But more to the point: they're gonna do it anyway. "They" is going to seem like a collective of people repeating themselves when the case most likely comes down to focusing on what is being said instead of who is actually saying it, making it appear ad nauseum.

    Just let it go.
