I had this guy pre-ordered then backed out....due to my collection priorities changing...so will admire him via appreciation threads.

    Loving all the pics!

Could someone post more pics from side and back and from above...in different poses?

Also this thread needs more pics of him outdoors. :)

Aside from some looser hips, HE'S PHENOMENAL!! No knee issues (knock on wood). Love how dynamic he can get!

Well, thanks to @Peaugh I was able to get mine transformed last night, halfway through a photo set but didn't have time to finish before I had to leave so you all get a temporary reprieve, lol.

My MP-44 just shipped today and should be here sometime next week, so either I'm way more magical than I thought or someone else deserves the credit. Glad you were able to figure it out though!

Wow, I am just bowled over by how awesome MP44 is. I received him on Tues. I was only able to open up the box and take Prime and trailer out last night. And I just got finished transforming him a few minutes ago. Absolutely amazing figure. Such a great transformation. Quite intuitive if one spends the time go through how and where all the parts fold and move to change modes. I am very happy. Hopefully later this weekend I’ll have more time to spend with him to go through all the accessories and articulation.

    Finally got this thing in:

Opened it up and...wow...the instructions

And is it just me, or do the back of the truck where the trailer attaches seems longer than it is on MP-10? I'll just say it is.
With all the reports of the knees breaking and stuff, I took my sweet time with the instructions taking care with certain parts that I was scared might snap/break. For some reason this kinda reminded me of transforming MP-5 and MP-36 but not as bad :lol  So many tabs and small parts to move :lol  Thinking back, this seemed more like the onscreen transformation of Optimus in the Michael Bay movies than it did with MP-10 with all the parts involved.

But when I was done...oh man this was so worth it!

This for me really does nail the cartoon look more so than the plethora of MP-10s I have. However, with how much this thing costs, I can't say that I'd be spending anymore on any repaints. This one...I'm happy with :)  As for the knees, I tested it out and much like some have said, the second lower knee joint activates the moment the first upper joint is at its limit in terms of how far it bends. So as long as I worked the knees in that manner/order (or vice versa if I was straightening the legs out) both ratchets seem to operate rather smoothly and felt as if both moved with ease. Though I'm not going to dismiss the possibility of it breaking, so I'm going to be extra careful. To be honest, I've only bent the knees 5 times each leg and the ratchets are still decent. I guess I can say I have no real issues to report aside from some minor paint issues on his ribs where the grey parts are. One tiny little paint chip that you'd have to really look for. Then there's the antennaes that seem a little "curved inward" at the top, but I can live with that or find a way to straighten them out (if there is one). Otherwise...I love this thing!

    Don't get me wrong, I still love MP-10 :D

    Not true friend.

Can anyone be kind enough to post a pic of prime on one of those mini scales? I am really curious how much it weighs without the matrix

Mine is still in "preparation" from at Nippon-Yasan. What a joke

Wish I had one. But I can honestly say he feels a bit heavier than MP-10. But the playability of it all (bot and trailer with all the accessories)...surpasses MP-10 I think. When you get yours, you're going to see all these pics really don't do it much justice.

Thanks man! I'm just worried about the sprues and paint chipping. I hate to admit that I am a perfectionist with my figures. I mostly collect metal builds and Macross items. I am however in love with my MP Beast Wars figures. Dinobot is just truly insane.

MP-44 will hopefully be one of my holy grails. To put him next to GX-71 Voltron and GX-88 Dairugger will be a dream come true!!!

Just be patient with NY. I've ordered a lot from them. Sometimes it takes a day or two with their "preparation" but you'll get it soon enough :)  And yeah, while transforming it, I noticed the sprues and everything, but I can overlook em. Unfortunately with the paint chip issues stated on the yellow parts on his waist...I think paint chip issues are not going to be completely avoidable. If you get one without any, then definitely count your blessings :)  Oh, and you're probably gonna want to have some finger nails on some parts that you're gonna move while transforming it. And I hear ya. I got a good buddy of mine who's the same way. He absolutely abhors paint defects especially on something this expensive. I don't blame him nor anyone else for feeling that way. He always says something along the lines of, "If you pay a premium price, you should have a figure with as little to no paint flaws at least." But hey...I got mine from Japan, returning mine would mean I'd be playing the lottery in hopes I get another decent figure without the flaws I have on mine. I never win the lottery so.....

    :lol

It's been in preparation for 6 days. Similar situation happened when I ordered a Fix Figuration Zaku from them several weeks ago. Man I hope they ship it on Monday :tumbleweed:

Yeah it took about 3 days for Amazon Japan to ship mine out via DHL. But it'll ship. I've never really paid much attention to NY's preparation because I know they'll ship it out. Heck my SHF Iron Man Mk 20 Python took about 5. I kept myself busy, and next thing I know, I got a shipping e-mail :D

I've loved all of the MPs that have come through as of late, but MP-44 is a masterclass both in detail and engineering. It looks as if it just walked straight out of your television and into your hands. The backpack isn't as bad in hand honestly. I did go ahead and fix the knees on both sides as my left one gave me an issue right out of the box. The other recent options look good, but I honestly don't think they hold a candle to this one. It also puts MP-10 to shame. It was great for its time, but displaying it next to this one, its age shows. If they do an Shattered Glass and a Nemesis Version with the same level of paint detail, I am already sold.

I've also transformed this thing about 3 times. The only complaint that I find are those two small "components" that you have to rotate to add that additional contour in the legs. Beyond that, it's actually fairly intuitive. Took me about 25 minutes the first time (while watching Wotafa's video). Second time it took about 7 minutes from memory.

Magnus. We need Magnus! Even better if they did trsiler armour. Could be one way to hyper articulate him.
